Took the 'cross' bike on an equestrian trail in the area...figured it'd be tacky, but not sloppy...
right before this photo, my tires completely caked up. I couldn't make it through that mud, as my rear tire just spun. You can see where I had to hop off the bike.
Well, that was a mistake. Spent the next 8mi trying to get clipped back in. **** was dry flaking off, but I still couldn't get in. I guess that's the down side to Shimanos....would anything have handled better? These are old school M747s. Got the new XTs on my Pivot....is the new generation SPD better at pudding compatibility? I haven't ridden SPDs in 7yrs.
