House wiring saga update:
original electricians used 4/0 to connect this feed through panel to that in the basement. This was overkill for 150A—my guess is that since they had a heat pump option they wired all of their builds for possible 200A.
Anyway, this should make 200A simpler/cheaper! the panel itself is rated for 200A so it may actually just prove to be swapping that big ol' breaker. like a < $1k job.
