You're allowed to put that electric wagon thing on the plane?
This one is our acoustic Wonderfold wagon

the Litheli could travel if we took the 100 Wh battery in carry on luggage but it lives at the mountain house

Back in Denver, with all of my favorite stuff. Washlets, massage chair, hot tub (in it now!), weights, and now a box jump that I got for my jumping-crazy middle kid.

did 10 of these and then a full set of lifting.

I lifted last night. no videos since I was already in my boxers by that time of night, and didn't want to have a video of the ol' schlong slipping out during a rep on the interwebs eh

anyway. did 10 reps box jumps, and 3 sets of 8 on bench, curls, and deadlift at 30", 137.5 lb, 53, 195, respectively. skipped squats as I had some work to do and didn't feel like it. (the astute reader may wonder how I got to a weird non-integer weight on the bench, and the answer is I have cool tiny fractional weight plates. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1 lb plates iirc.)

workin' up in the world I am

I installed (double sided adhesive so trivial) the Bootcaps. They can’t hurt and maybe they will actually lead to warmer toes than my heated insoles would produce on their own.

The only sacrifice is my sense of shame and that went out the window years ago. Plus my Look Pivots are high viz yellow similarly. Matching!

Yep - 50" is pretty much minimum for MJ to poke around in the trees.
I do recall your advice. This was off of Aces and Eights on the other side of the mountain but same difference. It was busy so I didn’t want to even try the Pano line.

so did the Bootcaps work?

I have no idea... because my toes were quite painful from lunch onwards.

long and short of it is that I'm going to take these ol' alpine boots over to Kyle @ the Cherry Creek Christy Sports for a custom insole and (a series of?) fitting sessions. shall use my AT boots fit by him last month in the interim, +/- using my powder skis due to the 3 mm BSL difference.

per Citi's reading of Equifax data my credit score has recovered. perhaps the lowered credit utilization ratio by virtue of increasing the total available credit line on the mountain house's HELOC has hit the algorithm.

I have gone down in Citi's eyes, but up in most others despite my credit utilization ratio staying higher than kosher due to the HELOC draws. apart from Lending Tree the effect of that credit utilization has slunk back to being only a small hit to ye olde score relative to low-utilization baseline.

credit score round up Jan 2024, with reported 43% overall credit utilization ratio

Did not skip squats today. And wore clothes

137.5, 53, 215, 105 for bench, curl, deadlift, squat. All feel appropriately hard. Deadlift may be tough to get through 3 full sets: did my first at 205.

my theory is that my squat is comparatively lagging by so much due to me doing them with full ROM.

The good news is that if/when I work up to 1x body weight on these full ROM squats then pistol squats should be a piece of cake.

Seems like a lot of effort to lift things up and put them down. Isn't there a machine that could make it easier?

I have not tried Mylar socks. I have normal Darn Tough ski socks.
How tight are your toes in there? It kind of sounds like you don't have much air space, so the insulating value of the socks and liner is going out the door. I notice a huge difference when hiking/biking in sub zero temps, if my pants or boots are too tight. There needs to be that air gap, otherwise heat is sucked right out.

Also not kidding on the sweating feet thing. If you wear the same clothing and footwear in the car on the way to the hill, its super easy to overheat in them. A little moisture in there will freeze later on.

oh, I have no air space in my boots due to my mallet-feet. the alpine boots are overly tight for sure. I don't think actual air space is kosher for alpine boot fitting for any kind of performance use, though.

E-barbells. You can do twice as many!
people do say that the eccentric motion on the way down has benefits

maybe I should invent this. assist on the half-rep up, then you do an acoustic half-rep on the way down...

30 kg payload. can fly 16 km when thus laden, up to 20 m/s (44 mph), and transmit video out to 20 km. altitudes up to 6,000m (!), -4 to 113F temp, fly in winds up to 27 mph.

Here in Mesa now

Concrete hellhole of a city. This Doubletree is right by a highway and I hear it through the window—echoed in many reviews online. 1.6 miles from the courthouse but I’m not going to walk there in a suit rolling a suitcase (as I’m here for just a night so will check out after breakfast.

I would not choose to come here. But I’ll be paid handsomely for my time, at least. hmph

well, last month answered whether running our 4 ton Daikin cold climate mini split heat pump is cheaper or more expensive than running the NG hydronic boiler hooked up to a radiant floor system…

and the answer is that NG + radiant is most definitely cheaper. I no doubt used less if any more than a pittance of NG last month with the heat pump heads all set above the radiant floor set temps. but the house's electrical bill also went from a usual in-season $125 or so to $278. and that's with off-peak electricity of 7 cents/kWh and on-peak at 21 cents/kWh (5-10 PM Mon-Sat).

I thus turned the heat pump set temps all down to 60F to ride under the NG system, and will let the NG hydronic system carry the load instead. it also is in the NG system's favor that I can control those thermostats remotely. not so with old-school Daikin tech.

Are you doing back feed or battery storage as well?
just grid connected with net metering. my mountain utility pays $500 flat for any system > 2 kW, and the 30% Fed won't hurt, either. date got moved back to Feb 1, for the record, due to the current storm systems we're going through right now.

As of this current storm system WP is reporting 49" village, 49" mid mountain, 53" summit! And with snow through Tuesday and at least one more mid week storm we should be good by next weekend for some lovely trees off Pano (and Challenger, and the kids' favorite Outrigger ones off the gondola/Explorer).

this is a cool look to 40 now that the snow has accumulated with no plows and no traffic to tamp down the snow either

I think the final count for stuck vehicles on I-70 this evening was

10 chained up semis
2 unchained semis despite the cmv chain law
1 rental Nissan Rogue or the like
