I think Evans can wrap it up tomorrow. Has there ever been two brothers on the podium? That has to be one for the history books.

When Evans pulled over, all I could think about was the Vuelta when he had so many issues. I hope he takes it in the TT today.

Though resplendent in yellow, when he opened his suitcase of courage he was out of blue touch-paper.

The Schlecks look horribly awkward on a TT bike. Cuddles nailed it.

Funny quote from velonews
2011 will be remembered as the second consecutive Tour in which the brothers’ poor time trialing abilities have set back their chances of victory. Determined to ensure this is never again the case, the pair resolved Saturday to devote the off-season to learning to climb mountains slightly faster.
These guys can't really consider themselves threats to win until they learn to ride them funny looking skinny bikes. Never been on a TT bike but from what I hear it takes a ****load of practice to generate power while balled up in an aero position.

They should focus their offseason to learning to time trial.

Hiding from the stupid
Especially on a course that was tailor made for them: Only one TT, and it was short.
I didn't think they even had a chance. It was pretty clear watching Cadel win the world championships that he could will himself to do great things. I figured they would need at least two minutes.

I have made fun of Cadel a lot in the past but he totally deserved to win this one.

I've heard that Cancellara rides his TT bike once a week, something like a five or six hour ride. You would like they'd learnt a thing or two having the best TT guy in the world on their team for multiple years. They should probably try and win the Giro where the TT doesn't matter as much.

Agreed. He let his riding speak for him in this race and did the work needed to give himself the bankable chance to win in the TT.

You need to be a complete rider to win the Tour. The days of specialists winning are over. And the Schlecks aren't good enough in the rest of the race to ignore the TT.

Contador rode a good time trial today and would have defended or gained time if he was in yellow. With AC down, the Schlecks missed their chance this year. Second again must hurt.

Anyway, good race this year, more interesting than usual with the course and the fact that no one dominated.

Never been a huge Cadel fan but he earned this thing 100%.

Gonna be super interesting next year.
Healthy Al C. , Wiggins, Evans, and of course Angie Schelck.....

Wonder if Pierre Roland is another flash in the pan.

ohhh.....hope someone gets their act together and can unseat the Gorilla...

Sastre and Menchov might be in the race, but who knows if they'll be in the mix. Won't Alejandro Valverde be back as well? None will win the race overall, but they could animate some stages

I chuckled at the cardboard Zabriski on the podium. I'm guessing the backside of the cut-out was slathered with DZ Nutz.

so what's everyones overall impressions with this years race. i really haven't been keeping up with it. the doping has really turned me away from watching. the only thing i watched was the recap that NBC did on sunday. i was really surprised at all the crashes, maybe being off the dope made most twitchy? the one thing i do feel good about was the final results. i feel that Cadel earned it. but looking at the final GC i also feel that it was probably one of the cleaner races held in some time. my only wonder is Voeckler. he's been in yellow before but has never really finished that high. i'd like to think he's finally becoming something he's seemed to flash in past races but....

so i'll leave it at that.
