"Naturally one can't characterize the traders as deranged," Noll told SPIEGEL. "But for example, they behaved more egotistically and were more willing to take risks than a group of psychopaths who took the same test."

Particularly shocking for Noll was the fact that the bankers weren't aiming for higher winnings than their comparison group. Instead they were more interested in achieving a competitive advantage. Instead of taking a sober and businesslike approach to reaching the highest profit, "it was most important to the traders to get more than their opponents," Noll explained. "And they spent a lot of energy trying to damage their opponents."

Riding past the morgue.
I've been doing a lot of financial reading since the "crisis" (Liars poker, reminiscences of a stock operator, All the devils are here, etc..) and I don't find this surprising at all. Its a mind set I for sure don't understand, but maybe that's why I'm a grease monkey and don't make six figures+ a year.

A trader by the name of Alessio Rastani told a shocked BBC News reporter yesterday, "The governments don't rule the world, Goldman Sachs rules the world." He warned, "The savings of millions of people are going to vanish," and said viewers should "get prepared" because the "economic crisis is like a cancer, if you just wait and wait thinking this will go away, just like a cancer it's going to grow and it's going to be too late." He added, "I have a confession: I go to bed every night and I dream of another recession, I dream of another moment like this."
Full story. There's talk of it being a hoax by the Yes Men, but that is quickly being ruled out.
