Thinking about getting a mutt to follow me on the trail. Looking for a dog that will be able to log lots of oregon miles and not spend too much time with the vet. Any suggestions?

Finally, a ride with the dogs is for the dogs, if you want to hammer a ride out for your fitness, don't bring dogs. They won't last over time.
