Looking for recommended trails (XC) in Lake george area. I will visit Whiteface for some DH action

You should definitely take the trip down to the SMBA trails off Exit 15 (only a 20 minute drive) if you like techy XC. If you like climbing, hit Spier Falls (exit 17N). There are trails on the east side of Lake George (Sleeping Beauty etc.). We haven't hit them yet this year, but they aren't very well maintained either.
