Im not sure if a bolt through rear axle would work with a trainer.
Has any one put a DH bike or any full suspension bike on a trainer or roller?
If it is possible how well does it work?
I have ridden a FS XC bike on rollers before (Actually, I may have tried my FR bike on the rollers to, but it's not what I usually use)...it's a little flexy (if it's set up soft). Now I lock out both front and rear. Not sure about the bolt through rear axel though. Sorry.
I have put about 15 hours on them thus far with my FS bike. Not a single problem with the bike. If you don't have good balance and smooth pedaling stroke now, you will after riding rollers for a while.
Knobby tires are more difficult to ride with and make a lot more noise than a nice pair of Maxxis Hookworms (which are the bomb for rollers).
From what I've been told (I have not experience with them) trainers can put some undue stresses on your rear triangle. But other than that, its a matter of picking your poison.
