I have a Minoura rim drive trainer (link), when I'm doing intervals or testing (w/powermeter) I am able to go harder than the trainer allows. My options are to find a new trainer or buy a bigger gear just for the trainer :( I use various bikes on the trainer and would rather have a trainer with more resistance. Any suggestions?

I have a high end cyclops trainer and it is the same way. Enough resistance for say 5 minute intervals but not enough for short efforts or anything out of the saddle. I think I might get a large volume cheap tire to help out with resistance.

I have a set of minora rollers with the resistance unit. I've been out of the saddle for a short time with very bad results (cleat in my refrigerator door). After that I bought the fork attachment and discovered that you lose everything when stand no matter what, the whole ass end goes squirrely. Still, for high resistance this set up is the most challenging I've ridden.

You've gotta toughen up to the weather. I recommend having your wife spray you with the hose to simulate hard rain

I hate riding indoors, so today, we went out and bought...

she likes that particular exercise equipment and I can x-train. I'm hoping the road/path conditions improve or at least become consistent.

Kurt Kinetic.
Gives up to 12000 watts resistance.
Can buy a power meter for it too.......i don't have it but it does the job and only costs $50.
