I have a fairly substantial iTunes library - 150GB or so. I use ratings to keep track of the tracks I listen to often (as well as play count, date added, etc). How do I go about transferring that data over to a new iTunes installation? I'm about to reinstall my OS, and really don't want to lose that information.

If I export the library.xml file, does that contain the data?

id like to know too. i got a new OS too and when i move my info over from the original files, the info doesnt transfer correctly

Just back up the entire itunes library folder, install itunes and then export that folder you backed up, should work fine, make sure you deauthorize the account on old pc first.
