We have about a mile of road frontage abutting our property. When Hilarie and I go out for a walk, we pick up any accumulated roadside trash we find. Tonight's haul:

- A discarded cheap sh1t baby seat.
- Three quarters of a case of full Labatt 50s.
- Miscellaneous paper and plastic.
- One empty beer can.
- Motor oil containers, one uncapped and partially full of used oil.

The motor oil's a repeat. Someday, just someday, I'm going to be walking in the woods off the road when the asshat dumps his used oil and he's going to wind up with a ventilated vehicle.

why do people 'dump'?

I can see -- tho wrong -- tossing a beer can, but who suddenly needs to toss a baby seat or oil containers?

I have 50 ft of roadfront and constantly have beer, soda cans and McDonalds wrappers in my yard.

Was down in Charlotte meeting up with some friends to go backpacking. On our way out of town we hit a drive through for some food. Lady in line in front of us dumps a bag of garbage out the window. My friends coworker who was going with us jumps out of the car picks up the garbage and hands it to the lady and politely says "excuse me maam you dropped something". After he walked back to the car the lady chucks it out the window again. He gets back out politely hands it to her. Lady flips out and starts yelling at him and throws the garbage in his face. He calmly dumps the contents of the bag, cig butts mainly on her windshield, she speeds off withough picking up her fast food feast. Good times.

That's such ****. I don't understand the need to dump stuff. There are garbage cans in front of every gas station, and in front of most restaurants and stores. And as far as the oil goes, anyplace that sells it, has to take used oil at no charge. (that might be New York law though). It's just so infuriating that people can't go a few moments out of their way and put it in a garbage can.
