My girlfriend owns a Trek Fuel 98 OCLV 04' model. I would like to remove the bottom bracket and regrease the threads. The cranks are bontarager. I have 2000 and older tools. Will these work or have things changed since 00'.
Hmm. I think you will have to post a picture of your tools.
But I just realized that your older tools will probably not be able to pull the crankarm (unless it uses a self-removing crank bolt, which is common on Shimano cranks and many others). Which means you will need new tools.
Cranks today typically use a hollow pipe spindle bottom bracket. You will need a special crank puller (the taper spindle puller will just get caught inside the hollow spindle).
I am not familiar with Treks so I do not know what kind of BB they spec. It could be splined, notched, or even external. Sorry about that.
