I was riding today, hitting hips and such. I need to learn how to ride again. I haven't done any tricks since 2 months before I sold my old hardtail, and my Yeti ASX is kind of a pain to do anything on because of how bad the standover is. I'm getting good at going fast, but when I hopped my new hardtail, I couldn't do anything, no joke, anything. I even felt uncomfortable doing one handers and no footers. Why, god, why? Has anybody else had this same problem after not riding a hardtail for a while and also not having jumped forever? Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can get back into it? I'm thinking of building just one jump in my back yard so I can try to brush up on everything. I just need to ride my new bike a little more too and get comfortable, it is a much different ride than my old Rocky Flow, in a good way though.
