I had some trouble changing something the other day.

Under MyRidemonkey-->Edit profile there is a box at the top to enter a bike company name to help with spambots or something. I had to fill that in to get it to accept any changes.

Try looking for the "change avatar" option. You may be throwing a curve by calling it an avatard.
