At the end of the day, we are globally fucked. Homo Sapiens is about to go extinct, and I wish the earth a successful recovery.

Is that greed the reason governments seek to expand their role or why government expansion is needed?

Didn't the FAA sign off on that deal?
Good thing they're on the case.

Something something both sides grumble grumble

edit: I know you're not supposed too, but jesus some of the comments on that article are even more frightening then the implications of that article itself.

That's a lot of economic anxiety. :fie:

Of course, the FAA has been under the direction to delegate to industry for years.

Do you know if the EU equivalent operates differently? Wasn’t that policy initiated to help Boeing compete against airbus?

No, it’s a general policy that is lobbied for by all aviation industry, not just Boeing. Rather than hire more people or make it more lucrative, it’s cheaper to try and farm everything out. Haven’t you ever watched Office Space? It’s not a bad thing inherently...until you lose control and there’s no one in the hen house. The problem is industry complains to congress and businesses get their way, putting them in the hen house.

I asked because I’ve read that the changes we’re in part to make Boeing more competitive with airbus. Wasn’t sure if it was because our regulation process was too onerous compared to the EU. The diesel emissions scandal suggest they delegate oversight to manufacturers as well.

Did that soft headed idiot just accuse Andrew Neil of being leftist? Exactly how much of a Nazi is shapiro if he actually thinks that, or is that just his default when he runs into someone who actually understands intellectual debate and doesn't fall into his gish gallop bullshit?

I've always wanted to see an economic collapse... I mean, we really do need production back in the US long-term, but this could be the most painful way possible of doing it.

If China Sells Its U.S. Bonds, Trump Will Benefit https://www.bloomberg.com/view/arti...-war-how-a-china-bond-selloff-will-help-trump

Oh yeah, and the majority of bond mutual funds and Pension plans hold US Treasuries. Do you know who hold US mutual funds? Look around at people you work with, your parents and grandparents, and pretty much everyone else you can see in a 1 mile radius. That is your answer. This will totally end well...

Right. Our #1 expense is the military. A big part of the reason we are the #1 economy is because of our military. What happens when there is no money for that military?

Yeah, that's kind of not true. It's by far the largest category of discretionary spending but not the largest cost to the government by a long shot. I mean, don't get me wrong, we should be spending maybe a third of what we do on our military, but it's far from the largest spending category.

It's the reason the US infrastructure is crumbling and China's isn't - plus the fact they own half the world along with the Arabian oil countries.

“The FBI underscored that assertion in a statement, saying its “investigators did not detect any adversary activity that impacted vote counts or disrupted electoral processes during the 2016 or 2018 elections.”

    Cherry pick much?

The entire point of the article is to discuss why that quote is bullshit.

Where is the article calling BS on the substance of that quote?

"Absent transparency and accountability, how can citizens be confident that county elections officials are prepared for similar hijinks in the 2020 presidential election?"

It's calling for more transparency regarding which specific counties were hacked so that officials are prepared for future elections.
Information that "Before telling the governor which counties were hacked, the FBI required him to sign a non-disclosure agreement."

When asked Tuesday if the two counties that had been hacked were notified, DeSantis replied: “The two counties at issue here, the FBI was working with them in 2016, to identify and to take whatever actions happened. So they just asked me not to name the two counties for whatever reasons, so I’m respecting that. But this was something that the counties knew about prior to the 2016 election.

It sounds like all the people that need to know, rather than want to know, the details of the investigation are in the loop.

Gillum’s announcement follows an automatic recount that ended Thursday and showed him gaining just one net vote in the process, making the margin against DeSantis officially 33,683 votes, or 0.41 percentage points.
