holy shit.... the printing on that box...... that's at least a 4-5C print op on corrugate, that is hard to do especially given that they're basically printing a photo / near photo quality. Given the size and the quantity made (assuming 2000 based on the initial production run of that fork, which was stated somewhere at launch), i'd guess that box alone cost $50

To be fair we have some members with enough disposable income to buy fancy dentist cars so I imagine it's only a matter of time. If it were e-bike compatible it would probably already be in monkey hands :busted:
given the gentrified nature of this forum (and a history of dw worship), i'm a bit surprised everyone here isn't rocking these forks currently. rm, you disappoint.

My Pivot Shuttle is riding nicely with its 150 mm travel 36 up front. Don't want to fuck that up, plus I have other things I'd rather spend my money on. :D

If they were 160 travel I bet there'd be at least 5 owners here. 130mm fork just isn't a big segment on here or where I live either. My 130 bike has a 150 fork.

Someone's already trying to unload one of these monstrosities??
Even a Dentist knows better than to buy a used M5.

It sounds like a plush 130mm fork, which means not a lot of that travel is going to be available for big hits. Basic physics says that if you consume a bunch of that travel to be supple, there ain't going to be much left over to absorb large amounts of energy. perfect for the dentist who wants a long travel fork for that first bit of plush travel but likely to be a compromise for anyone who actually needs the full travel of a fork.
Your talking about hucking. Jumping is more about the push off and not the landing. Shorter travel is better and it needs to be firm up front to push off the trail rather than push through the fork.

leelikesbikes review compared it a FOX 831, which is a short travel dirt jumping fork. He said "The fork is very firm. Because the wheel doesn’t track along the steering axis, when you push down into the fork it barely compresses. This applies to climbing out of the saddle, loading for a hop and smashing into a turn. In these moments the fork feels like it has very little travel. Another way to put it: You have a very efficient, connected attachment to the ground."

Then some guy made an edit in SLC that shows the fork being jumped the shit out of.

I don't know who to trust. It looks like the legs will fly off the crown or take the head tube with it. For some reason it reminds me of the Truvativ Hammerschmidt. Maybe it will prove to be durable and get cheaper.

All this unanimous support is starting to make me feel compelled to get a 130'sh travel trail bike just so I can buy one of these. Or just throw it on my DH bike and add a bunch of spacers under the stem.

I was commenting to my wife about how someone gets paid more than me just to design a box that gets thrown in the trash.
we design stuff to be recyclable, its a big dept objective for my group globally, yet the irony is that everyone knows almost everything we spec that goes into the OR gets red binned.

I watched a pallet of pacemakers get tossed because the boxes got dented.

Boxes nobody will ever look at.
