You're probably thinking of Hussefelts. As long as you use pedal washers, the Holzfellers are money.

P.S. Learn to spell. Your posts are hard to understand.

i picked up a brand new set on ebay for 65 bucks (no chainring)...i think they must have fallen off the back of a truck or something... they work great but the paint has rubbed off after only 1 ride... cosmetic, so i don t really care... i just hope they last

There are painted cranks that the paint doesn't wear off of?

you tell me since you seem to know it all ;) :P my point is that in 1 RIDE the paint has worn off... my painted fsa pounders have lost minimal paint and i ve ridden the p1ss outta them

Calm down champ :) I'm just sayin' that judging crankarms by how long the paint lasts seems like judging suspension performance by what color the numbers are on the spring. :p

And if you are thinking of Holzfellers, it's probably because they didn't use the pedal washers that come with the cranks.

My buddy is not using them and he just got an 04 IH with holzfellers. I've warned him, so we'll see what happens.

I didn't know Truvativ sold painted Holzfellers. Polished or ano black. They work great, I haven't broken or had any problems with mine.

if you refer back to my first post you ll see that i mentioned that the paint was cosmetic only... and that it doesn t bother me... all i truly care about is performance...

i just wanted to make the point that it is pretty poor that the paint rubs off so quickly... thats the long and short of it... unlike 'fr-rider' i don t care how shiny my bike is :) ;) fricken burg frankenstein eXtrenist :) :p :monkey:

You're right, they're either polished or anodized black, not painted. The black ano finish wears off for some strange reason. I bought a pair of black Holzfellers for my hardtail, and after seeing the black finish start to disappear, I bought a pair of polished Holzfellers for my DH bike.

lol, you really want to get rid of your Truvativs...they don't match the rest of you bike anymore.

BTW I'll be hitting the Queen #2 tomorrow. i'll take a pic of it and also make sure my bike is nice and shiny just for you. :D

Actually today was a good day, Smitty and I hit the big jumps and drops on the second part of the course. The biggest jump was about 8 meters...easy.
