OK after some screwing around last year trying some different bikes from full on DH to old-school XC I finally settled on the Kona Roast.
It just feels right. I ride motorcycles (dual sports) and I just love how I'm postitioned on the Roast. I guess it has to do with where the front whell turns and where the bars are in comparison to the seat. But I love this thing it's super fun. woohoo!
Thing is I'm no dirt jumper by any means. I just want a bike to ride all over the place and this one feels good. Screw the labels! So I just swapped the bashgaurd for a 42 tooth front chainring and that helps some issues. But I'm wondering what other modifications I should think about doing as time and money permit.
Forks? Marz DJ III on there right now. It feels ok but maybe soft. I'm 6'2" 230lbs BTW.
Derailers? it was a real bitch adjusting the Front Deore to work with 3 chainrings. But it's working now sort of.
Weight? not a huge issue but where do you start with that?
Cheers all I dig the forum.
