I've had enough of riding on my bling blings xc and I want something that will actually give me some grip while climbing. What's the favorite tubeless tire that can stand up to some abuse but still roll fast at the bmx track. I'm looking for a tire between 2.1 and 2.4. Thanks

Chris

If you're happy with a little extra weight, I'd go for a pair of 2.2" comp24s. Not the fastest rolling tyre, but better than most DH tyres at the BMX track, especially with the pressure upped to 40odd p.s.i.

Comp 16 or 24 2.2 is what I would use. For something lighter, you might want to look at Conti Vertical Pro 2.3s. That's what I use for all-around riding and they work well.

Do High Rollers come in a 2.35 UST?

You could try the 2005 XCR X'trem (127tpi 825g 30-60psi) or XCR Dry (127tpi 660g 30-60psi), there a 2.0, but they do work pretty good on the BMX track.

I just started running these bad boys. They are UST and a beefy 2.4 but only 980 grams. They have a 120TPI casing ( :thumb: ) and dual compound (50/60a). They hook up well and roll really well. The casing is thicker than XC but not DH thick so that makes them perfect for all-purpose riding. They run $43 retail. I am blown away by the performance of these tires :)

That all looks pretty good...the knobs look pretty well spaced, does it really have good rolling resistance? Anthing you could compare it too? The weight and size look right on for what I'm looking for, perhaps I'll hold off on the Michie's.

Well my most recent comparable tire choice was the Wildgripper HotS 2.5's and those have the same tread as the comp24 but with harder rubber compound. These new tires roll about 90% as good or better than the Michie's (hard to say exactly because I also have new 3-pound heavier bike that's marginaly slower as well) and they hook up nearly twice as good. The Michie's were about ~800 grams and the sidewalls were paper thin so by all acounts these Speccy tires are better in just about every way...

If you ever come over to SC to ride you can check mine out and see for yourself :)

As per the Maxxis website, the Larsen TT only comes in a 2.0 UST version. However the Highroller and the Ignitor come in a 2.35 UST version. Both are in 120 TPI and are foldable. The Highroller is in a 42a durometer and the Ignitor is in a 60a.
