I've been using Hutchinson Pythons since the dawn of time. They hold air well and have great traction, but are kinda heavy. Reviews I have read describe a lot of the other tires out there as unreliable at best.

Anyone had good luck with something other than the Pythons?

Well i've only used IRC serac UST tires in 2.1 size so far. They been sitting in my house for 2 months now and haven't lost any air the tread doesn't wear away very fast and they are great in all conditions and roll really fast.

I use Scorpions on my XC bike, I like the traction and the control and they've never flatted, but they do wear out quick.

I foung the Mosquitos wear really fast. Soft rubber is like that. Currently digging the Michelin Comp UST. Holds air really well, excellent traction and they seem to roll well too. But I would prefer a larger tire than a 1.95.

I'm using Maxxis Larsen TTs and they roll fast but for some reason the front tire leaks air all the time. Any ideas what tires are good for wet, rooty conditions? THe Larsens are fantastic for hardpack.

Cheers,

I too am in the hunt for some lighter tubeless tires. The 2.4 Michelin DH tires I've been running are great until the climbing starts. The Conti Verticals look interesting especially when you take pinch problems out of the equation.

I think it's very important what the conditions are that you ride in when making tire selections.

I love Conti Vertical Pros, but I'm not sure they'd be the best tire for anywhere. They're great for the east though.

thats what i was talking about. WTB has some good treads in UST from, I dont know how they preform tubless wise(holding air...etc).
