Good Morning!!

How the hell are ya? Still training the new employee, so my morning is quite busy. I've got him out right now in the shop looking for the "wood stretcher" to make a piece longer....tee-hee. Newbies.

Anyways...the night was pretty typical. I made a big-ass plate of nachos with everything and I got Justine hooked on "Ninja Warrior." Seriously.....I come back from the bathroom, and she's all "..C'mere...you GOTTA check out this guy eat it on the net jump!!"

What have I done?

Busy week ahead.....so I guess I need to get crackin' on that. Check y'all out later!!

Morning GH, monkies!

Why is it when you travel West, your body still knows what time it is back East?
Of course, it's 5:15 here in Reno and I've been up for an hour already!

West coast monkies, do you guys have this problem when you go East?

Oh well, nothing new out here..a week being paid to live in a casino but I don't gamble so..fun watching other people lose a lot of money. Suckers.

Have a good day!

Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
is it a good thing that you hired a guy that is actually looking for a wood stretcher?

He is either stupid as a stump and looking for it. Or he is out back doing smack thinking is boss is tool.

Good morning everyone,

Glad Monday is out of the way, I survived but just barely.

Going to be 112 here the rest of the week- debating if I want to try and ride tonight or not. I may be leaning towards not.

Website shows the new car is supposed to arrive at the dealer 6/17, hopefully will just be another day or two now.

Have a good day.

Morning. Good night last night. The wife is out of town on business, so I did what any self-respecting bachelor would do... Put the kids to bed by 8, drank beer, watched baseball and surfed pRon sites. Sadly, I was still in bed by 10:30. :disgust1:

Would normally be riding tonight, but I'm on kid patrol again tonight and tomorrow. Tossing around the idea of heading up to Whiteface this Sat. for opening weekend. Jim Mac, you interested? :monkeydance:

Hello. My work computer died yesterday. Apparently it's cheaper to give me a new one rather than replace the old one. I was told by the Help Desk that they may not be able to recover my hard drive. ACK! I am screwed if my archive e-mail folders can't be retrieved. So now I am using the spare computer in the cube next to mine.

Ha! ...Have you ever hired anyone from the temporary service? This is the only available pool from which I am allowed to swim in, so yeah....I'm gonna get some entertainment out of the hassle of having to train this chimp. Being a tool pays the bills.

it's cheaper to replace a defective hard drive than an entire computer (unless the one you have is really obsolete).

shouldn't those emails be on the company's mail server?

i had a great lobster roll @ <don't laugh> the 99's last night. saw some cool lightning while i finished up some photos from last week (Cynics; Masaki Batoh/Helena Espvall; Chris Masterson/Eleanor Whitmore). gotta get the Mission of Burma ones done tonight before tip-off.

Good morning everybody.
I have a lead on a job in Colorado ... woohoo, wish me luck.

Beautiful day on tap ... work, road ride this afternoon, then wash/polish my car this evening and watch the game.

i thought there were strict rules about businesses retaining emails (in case of legal investigations)? you can store archived email only on yr personal computer?
Oh it is a tangled mess how that works, what Most companies big companies do now , is use a running tape archieve for SEC purposes , which means the messages are written immediately to tape as they go through the server. the problem with that is basically unless you have a court order they are not going to go through that tape. SO in addition to that backup they have the standard nightly/weekly/monthly's for doing the every day stuff , how ever they still only give so much space to each person. Hence Local Archieves

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Morning all. Had a long weekend and am back to work, finishing up my year and my career here in Schenectady. I was officially appointed the new High School Band Director for Hadley Luzerne Central School District. It's a much smaller district (graduates between 70-80 vs. Schenectady's 700) but it's 10 miles from home (vs. my current 35) and they were able to offer me a salary I could accept (with my savings in commuting costs alone, I am only taking a $2k paycut -- which will be even less when I start bike commuting). The staff seems nice and it's so close to home so it's definitely a win-win for me :)

Now, over the weekend Sq-Earl & I did the Hardcore24 in Naples, NY as a 2 person duo. It was tough!!! We've both done the race before (him on a 4 person twice and me on a 5 person co-ed and as a soloist) and it is definitely WAY harder to do a duo. The weather certainly didn't help either. The severe T-storms came rolling in on Friday night about 6:45pm and lasted until 9pm with off and on rain all night and a steady rain from about 10am-8:45pm on Saturday night. The course is fun (of course) but got REALLY slick and sketchy in a couple of new sections that they had cut for the race. I had a bad crash on my 3rd lap and on Earl's next lap, he crashed in the same spot. Visability was getting very limited as the rains ended and the dense fog rolled in so, we decided to take a rest, eat, take some extra Vitamin I (Ibuprophin) and wait until the fog cleared a little. We checked the standings (duo co-ed was racing 2 person males this year) and we were solidly in 4th so we rested and I went back out for a fun lap to help my T-blazer through the first part of what would be his last lap. It was a good time and we managed a 3rd place finish (5th overall) so we're good with that and more importantly, we're still happily married. :)

Would normally be into Whiteface (bring spare brake padz!) as I love that mtn, but I am in Strong Island this weekend. "Lightly" hit Plattekill this past Sat as an early Dad's Day gift!

The big lift at Jiminy Peak opens Saturday 6/28, want to hit that???

Congrats T!!!!! :thumb:

Although, I may torment you with a barrage of "Scuz-urne" jokes next time I see you! ;)
Thanks. I am definitely going to get some interesting jokes in the coming weeks, but the cut in my commute and stress level (hopefully) should be well-worth it. Took me 17 minutes last night with a stop for milk at the grocery store  I am PSYCHED!

I took my dog to the vets this morning to have him neutered. The worst thing was to hold him as he went to sleep and then go into spasms. The vet was trying to tell me this was normal as he was stressed being there, but it wasn't nice.

I went back there at 2 to pick him up and I've been spending the afternoon with him lying on the floor watching movies as he sleeps.

He is doing better than his brother did. At least he was able to go for a little walk to relieve himself half an hour ago.

I think the painkillers are wearing off now though as he isn't a happy dog.

I feel bad for doing it to him.

Morning - had my physical at the Doc's office today. Blood pressure is good, pulse is good, but I could stand to lose a few pounds (at least based on my last weigh in there). I also got a tetanus shot, and had to leave a urine sample and have some blood drawn.

The doc also wants me to go see a dermatologist because of my pale Irish skin and the freckles and whatnot on my back and arms and stuff.

Congrats Treesaw!!! Good luck with all that. :thumb:

morning monkeys...at least i think it still is. life is  these days. i have 2 magazine deadlines to meet but still waiting on things to come in. i look all around me and the house is screaming...pack me, pack me, WHAT THE HELL YOU WAITING FOR, pack me...so then i jump up and pack something and realize...what the hell you doing...you're supposed to be working!! it is this cycle that i find myself trapped in as of lately. the kids come home in a few more hours...school's out...and they will be home to add to that mix. :bonk: the only plus side of working from home when kids are home from school is not having to get up so early to get them ready and out the door.

sprinkle in many episodes of 13 you girl crying drama of leaving (which is completely understood...but doesn't lessen the impact) and you have a clear picture of yesterday, today and the following 13 days...with increases in crying proportionate to the decreasing days before leaving.

Afternoon monkeys!

Went to Hartford to fix a unit that wasn't communicating remotely, had to change the antenna. All friggin day for an antenna. Up side is I get to go home early today.

Went to Seymour to monitor a shot there this morning. Uneventful. Now I'm writting a report on how the cracks at Costco aren't caused by the blasting happening next door. Fun stuff.
