QFT (says the guy with the art mutha fuggin history doctorate).
PSA: It's the art history part, not the PhD part.

My masters in engineering is probably worth 10-20% bump in salary over a bachelors. If I were to pursue a doctorate at my current location, I would be a shoe in for a fellowship and probably another 15% bump, not to mention a parking spot.

Actually I would guess it is the same in your field, what is 140% of a barista's salary?:D

Would you get your own red stapler as well?

Edit: adding on a PhD would net me $0.00 extra in my line of work. And I already have a parking space. :D I am maxed out in the academic world, with extra promotions being only for the sense of accomplishment.

I have no idea where I am
Got an appointment for Friday at a drive thru testing place run by Novant. Apparently all local drive-thrus are getting very busy since that's the first available slot. Then I'll have to wait another 7-10 days for the results. By then will a test really matter ? I'm guessing I am either going to be okay in a day or two or gasping for air on my way to the hospital. Other than feeling clammy earlier today, I feel fine.

You could be a statistic, or a statistic, but preferably just a through hiker.

I've always wondered if its worth it to go back and get my masters. Granted, I haven't done any schoolwork in the 13 years since I've graduated, so it would be a real rough reintroduction, but I vacillate between the extra loans being worth the trouble.

I waited 17 years and it was a real challenge, but also very rewarding.

Seems like it would be a more valuable experience after having some time in the work force. A dose of reality to go alongside the heft helping of academic utopia.

Off to look up my employers reimbursement policy now. I've always wanted to be referred to as a master.

Yeah, I definitely had a leg up with a ton of real world experience. The hard part was all the math. Had I know better I would have taken some easier engineering math and linear systems theory before hand. Actually I planned quitting work a month earlier to better prepare but I got suckered into sticking around to the last minute.

Because it's big and scary IRL and the pictures don't do it justice? Not that any of that crap looks small to me in the pictures... but also I've seen it from behind the bars. My thoughts?

the first drop / step down looks easy IMO. gap jumps / doubles still scare me. i've always hated shark pits.

Yeah yeah, we know how big your dick is already. ;)

And I agree... it looks easy. And I'm sure it is, having watched a couple friends hit it. It's straight forward, pretty clean approach, good landing, basically like popping off a curb so long as you have the right speed to hit the landing it's all good. I've certainly hit more technical and even bigger drops in my past (because my dick is also huge), but haven't ridden like that in a long time so I backed off it. And big-ass doubles like that second picture? Always made me nervous. There was a time when I would (reluctantly) attempt such nonsense... but I'm 6-1/2% robot from all the ortho surgeries I've had from effing up dirtjumps so I don't tend to do that shit anymore.

I would hit a 40+ ft, fast-and-low DH style double before I would try a 6ft bmx-style, shoot-you-to-the-moon double.

Never could hit them, never want to. Terrifying.

fun fact i stopped doing bigger drops after smashing my junk between my saddle and my stomach on a hard landing on a step down

Front Range, dude...
Swabbed prior to the travel...14 days quarantine here and there. Nothing to do, so will probably surf porn and teh RM. Not necessarily in that order...

Taco sold to AutoNation...20% higher than CarMax. Easier than the open market...sorry @Pesqueeb , I would have made you a sweet deal had I known you were open to temptation.
