We have elk!!! Three guys my size could not move the beast from where she fell. We were able to drive the truck up to her but just to get her in the truck still had to quarter her up, us three atill had issues getting each piece in the truck.

For hunting snowshoes are the way to go, skis just suck for this. That and I am broke so no skis in my future for some time

So as of now just fromthe deer about 60 pounds of burger, about 85 ish pounds of steaks, roasts, stew meat etc. after getting half way through the elk as far as just removing meat with full processing we will likely get 300 ish pounds of meat. And I still have one more deer tag

Fyi, this is my food for the next year plus, and I only have about 200 bucks into it at this time, probably another fifty when the last tag gets filled and its all in my freezer

The stench of wealth you speak of, is quite strong in your mainline suburbs also. That wealth negates the property tax factor also....
