I'm going to demo a Yeti and several Giants and Specialized this weekend, I'm not sure what Yeti but the other bikes are mostly 29 inch wheels and other new standards I'm not yet aware of. My newest bikes bits are are from 2004 - many youngsters are surprised it all still works but I remind them that wheels have always been round.Mornin!
Currently having new bike lust. Checked out a Transition Scout this weekend and cried a little bit that the entry level model is $3K. I wish I could do frame only but at this point I'm still on a 1 1/8" straight steerer, 20mm front through axle, 135mm rear axle, 27.2mm seatpost, 26" wheels, and a 1x9 drivetrain. It's remarkable I can even muster the motivation to ride given how uncool all that is.
You can cry all you want but new bikes are nice.Mornin!

TMI!Seems like I may have been too aggressive with the foam roller.
make sure you open a beer can close to the phone.3rd night in a row of 9+ hours sleep. Feels awesome. History tells me a fourth is unlikely.
Been getting calls from the old workplace about every 3 hours. They are fucked. Not because I am not there, they would have still been fucked, I just don't want to be part of it anymore. Decided I will return calls, but with a minimum 24 hour turn-around
Bubbling noise from a bong may be more appropriate here.make sure you open a beer can close to the phone.

On purpose? In Vegas. Grand Canyon toured...on to Death Valley.
At some point it's a question of, other than perhaps a couple of pounds (most of which come from my wallet), what benefit will I see from the new bike? It won't make me faster and it won't make me enjoy the ride any more. My current bike has taken care of me for almost a decade now and has done everything from DH to a 24 hour race. It's still pretty relevant and packs some significant sentimental value. Not sure any of that is something I can buy.hi five!
same boat...no disc brakes.
Disagree with this. New bikes always re-sparked the desire/fun-ness of riding, at least for me.it won't make me enjoy the ride any more.
Bikes have gotten better over the last decade, but I will argue that they aren't any more fun, less so in many cases. Unless you are racing and seconds are important to you, fuck a new bike. Ride it until it breaks. At some point it's a question of, other than perhaps a couple of pounds (most of which come from my wallet), what benefit will I see from the new bike? Also (as I learned) even the most bad ass old bike is worth little these days.Bikes have gotten better over the last decade, but I will argue that they aren't any more fun, less so in many cases. Unless you are racing and seconds are important to you, fuck a new bike. Ride it until it breaks.
the bottom has pretty much fallen out for used bikes over 5 years old. Also (as I learned) even the most bad ass old bike is worth little these days.
Your RFX is a bad ass old bike as was mine. Ride it into the dirt and get something new when in the budget.
Yea, this is where I have to draw a line. It's bad enough when every bike I own individually cost more than my first truck, or when the value of the jeep basically doubles every time I throw the Niner on the back, but if the same price point gets me a nice used or new motorcycle, the motorcycle is going to win every time.so much better the high end costs the same as a motorcycle?
Dude think of all the R&D that went into n/w and boost and semi-chubby. Not to mention 1xsixtybazillion. I am surprised that high end entry level bikes are only 3k...so much better the high end costs the same as a motorcycle?
Be prepared to wish you were skinnyfinally got my act together and joined the local climbing gym.
SSSubaru factor?Driving a Buick today and tomorrow. Its no wonder that this thing comes with a backup camera, you can't even see out the back of it. The pillars are HOOOOOOOOGE. It also feels like I'm riding in a truck.
I am almost positive that the front left strut on the Subaru is gone or on it's way out. There is some pitting on the chromed section of the strut shaft, right where the strut body seal sits with the car sitting still. I'm not very impressed, considering how much these Bilstein struts cost. To note, the front right literally fell apart two weeks ago. They've only been on the car since last summer.
You'd best get that grin off your face. People might get wise.Office successfully crop dusted.
////hooning.....all the cool kids say it/do it....SSSubaru factor?
*******Subaru factor. The car is actually fine, so maybe its BBBBBilstein factor (also ///German company).SSSubaru factor?
