Yo. Great sleep last night with no interruptions, if only it was five hours longer.

I finished watching Stranger Things last and surprisingly thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also, there was this:
"COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) The massive hail storm that hit Colorado Springs in late July is the sixth worst hail storm to ever hit Colorado.

The storm damage is now totaled at more than $352 million.

Insurance experts say it's one for the books because the hail was so large and it struck most of the city.

For the city of Colorado Springs, it's the second-most expensive catastrophe behind the Waldo Canyon fire.

That late July storm stands out in a state already prone to bad hail storms. Colorado ranks only second to Texas for hail insurance claims each year.

The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association said this storm resulted in more than 50,000 car insurance claims and more than 30,000 property insurance claims.

Experts say this storm, and the trend in recent years of increasingly bad hail storms, means bad news for homeowners whose insurance premiums continue to climb.

"I kept praying please, please don't take out the windows, don't take out the windows, and when it was over with, we got up and went upstairs and we could see the hail all the way across the house," said Cornia Vincent.

To give you an idea of how big the hail was, experts say while this storm didn't damage the most cars ever, it totaled more of them than any in city history."

I have quotes for over $12,000 for our house.

I am in the final stages of loading spaceship van for first stage journey to Porters Corners, NY this afternoon. Tomorrow in theory gets us roughly to Chicago, then to Medora late Thursday. We'll see how it all plays out.

At about 1:30 AM a big tree fell back someplace in the woods - prolonged noise sounded like a firefight. I may prowl around this morning and try to find it.

In hell. Welcome!
^^ :fie:

There was a tornado touch down in Concord at 3:20AM yesterday, less than 15 miles from my home; and today the coffee machine is broken. I predict much zombies around.

Also, :panic:.

I hate soccer moms. Why is it these women find it acceptable to break every traffic law within two blocks of the school when there are cars full of kids and kids waking and riding to school everywhere. In their rush to get their little brat to school they pass on the left or right, run traffic lights, I almost got T boned yesterday by a red light runner who just missed a mom and her kid in the crosswalk.

I have the same AM route today:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Even managed to squeeze in an impromptu "off the [family] books" ride last night. I felt good, the trails were in mint condition after Sunday's monsoon, and to top it off, I discovered a new trail.

Normally you park half way up the mountain at this particular riding spot (Camp Fortune, QC) - the xc side starts half way up the mountain, the DH trails start at the bottom on another face, but there's no climbing trails that start from the DH side. This new trail starts all the way at the bottom, and connects into the xc trails. It will be possible to cobble together some big loops now, but still end with a great descent.

I even ran into the builder, so was able to thank him. I wish I had beer on me. He said he built it as a way up the mountain. It'll be a steep bitch of a climb, but the elevation gain will make it worth it I think. It is probably even possible to ride the DH trails down as they end up maybe a mile up the road. And you can mostly coast down the road the whole way. Sweet!

Mornin!

Going to get a LASIK consultation today. I keep thinking of how nice it must be to wake up in the morning and be able to see. The last time I can remember doing that was in college when @CrabJoe StretchPants passed out in the bathroom wedged between the tub and the door and being that I couldn't get in, I ended up falling asleep with my contacts in.

And after you hit 40, you will need glasses again.

I used to have great vision but after 40, I'm starting to squint to read my phone. Reading glasses suck and it seems the more I wear them, the more I have to. :(

Tracfone, you buy minutes and data separately, I have a full function smart(ish) that costs me about $12.00 a month.

Howdy all. Posted by yours truly to our neighborhood group just now:

Fellow neighbors: there currently is no dog park in [our sub-neighborhood's name–one is being built]. I get that.

That doesn't mean that it's ok to let your dogs run off-leash in the existing parks and open spaces. That's unsafe for your dog, unsafe for other users of these spaces, and opens you up to liability should your good-natured pooch glitch.

Sincerely, a bike commuter that warily passes off-leash dogs every day.

Dogs glitch? Robo-doggies...

I have no problem with off leash dogs, as long as the owner isn't completely clueless as to what the pooch is doing and actually has some control over it...unlike the dog that bit me last year while on my bike.

Do dog owners pick up and bag their dog's poop down there and then hang said bag from a tree? Fairly common here. :banghead:

You're welcome.
I dumped my Fi service and the wife's phone is next.
Once they ceased invite-only the service quality tanked fast.
Echos, constant dropped calls, poor call quality.
I used it for my business and got non-stop complaints from customers so switched back to ATT.
Solved all issues.

You've got to teach them to only stream 480p from Youporn when on the phone. Gotta have that talk eventually.

Bike may be fixed up by today... hopefully. Want to ride.
Oh hey, I *also* want to ride. I'd bet @Nick does as well. And I want to grab a tire from that guy for the NoDak adventure... Minion SS seems like the right answer for 100+ miles on a Dentist Enduro bike. And don't you also want to get tires from him? And ride bikes? And have beer?

Yes, yes, and yes. However, I believe that the bike will not be finished in time for all these shenanigans TODAY. But... perhaps tomorrow? Lunch ride? Supposed to be nice and cool, ain't it?

I can make a lunch ride happen tomorrow. @Nick can you be available to make with the riding? That would be swell.
