In hell. Welcome!
Back in the office. All sorts of top brass are in town for board and other meetings. They will all inquire about and provide guidance for my project. We'll see if I am still collecting the next paycheck. Kill me nao? :dead:

Good Morning!!

We're heading out to Revolution Mill Business Park this morning to change out some directional graphics....this is a cool spot that took over an old textile mill and created apts.,business spaces, and restaurants. Normally, it's an okay work situation, but today is slightly different. There is a "sludge" buildup in the nearby Buffalo Creek, which flooded heavily during hurricane Florence. This "sludge" smells like rotten eggs and cow chips cooked into a plate of asshole-flavored nachos. They are pumping it out to nearby fields, but that is only stirring it up more.

I'm going to put in for hazardous-doodie pay.

Great long weekend, even if the weather kind of sucked the entire time.

We've got our company IT conference happening this week. Should make the week interesting. But damn, today my team is getting together from 1-4pm for some sort of discussion and then dinner is planned for 7pm. I mean, free food and all, but what the heck am I supposed to do between 4 and 7? Hang out with those loogans even more?!

Can normally see ~25 miles out of our house.
Haven't been able to see more than 50 yards since Friday.
More freezing fog, rain and snow today - yay.

And apparently I'm missing a meeting that started an hour ago. Its not in my calendar, so not my problem. :D
Ahh, I love those. Then I'll get a text or IM asking me if I'm going to the meeting after it's started, and I say no because it wasn't on my calendar, even though I am just sitting at my desk most likely not working.

In the shed with coffee. Phone meeting with lawyer later. I also have to boss and tell employees exactly what to do. So annoying, I wish they would just work. FTS.

FTS is around 8. My fuck up wonder from 2 weeks ago is doing things wrong at about a level 2 of 10, but it's enough to make me get up and have to re-explain, again. I'm sick. And I just found out that my already under-staffed team just became 15% more understaffed from people taking that position I passed on. Sounds like a few other senior people passed on it too... Comp doesn't sound that great and workload sounds substantially more. But at least I haven't had a blowout yet...

Mornin!

Still hanging out on Vancouver Island; this place is awesome!

Turns out my dad’s father is on his death bed. It’s sad cause he’s my grandfather and all, but they were never really involved in my life, so it’s almost like mourning a stranger.

Getting my blood tested to check serum uric acid levels this afternoon. Stopped taking the gout med 5 weeks ago due to night sweats. Several years ago a Rheumatologist told me that the more fat I lost, the more variety of foods I could eat. Also read recently that there is a correlation between belly fat and gout. So now that I’ve lost 60 pounds and am currently the lightest I’ve been since the mid 90s, and If my uric acid levels are acceptable, I’m going to indulge in something that I haven’t been able to for the past 10 years, a slice of NY style pepperoni pizza. Fuck yeah !

Been kind of an asshole all week.

Dad ended up in the hospital with pain similar to when he had his abdominal aortic aneurysm......... He previously had a nine inch long repair to the artery. Never quit smoking..... Like 3-4 packs a day....

So they did the work up, lots of imaging, stated it was just a muscular pain but follow up with the specialist blah blah....

By the way we see what looks like a four inch mass in your left lung........... You need to get that diagnosed...... Of course dad goes outside and lights one up

So he sees his regular doc yesterday, he goes and look back six years back to the arterial repair.... Turns out the mass had been there since 2012 and has actually shrunk..... So not cancer or a tumor.
Little relieved after that, but he is gonna end up with a surgery anyways as they want to basically scrape the inside of his lungs out....... He has to seriously reduce his smoking first though..... We will see how it goes.

it amazes me that it's 2018 and people still smoke.

For all the Cali monkeys or monkeys who ride bikes in Cali.....

Strawberry CA (hwy 50 not hwy 108) is a legit destination for playing in the woods. I have been going there for years for the world class rock climbing but the riding trails have been popping up on the radar lately. So I grabbed my climbing gear and bikes and spent a 4 day weekend out there. The dude who runs the general store in town will shuttle you up the hill for free (I tried tipping him and he wouldn't have it). The trails are gorgeous and natural with incredible dirt.

After a weekend of partying and riding and climbing this is me at my desk. Way higher energy than is needed. Skip to 1:00 if you want to see a cat/cookie thing get metal as fuck.

Probably gonna throw a chair before the end of the day

EDIT: Video isn't working?? Or maybe just not working for me.
