I just finished posting new photo I shot yesterday of the 6 Pack in action. Stu Travis of the Honda Turner team put the 6 Pack through a workout in SoCal. Click on the image below to see or photos.

Nice pics and nice bike!

Does using a DC fork void the warranty on this bike?

I love my RFX. It's nice to know a similar bike will be available when it finally gets retired...in, oh, 3 years or so...

I need to take it to Laguna sometime soon.

Cool photos, btw. The polaroid type 55 effect is nice on the shot above. I'd like to break out my bigger-format stuff and try to do some mtb photos sometime...

Yes, it is in the same park, but obviously not the same trail.
It is down the fire road about a half mile. Still no uphills to get to it though.

Oh... and that is not the hardest trail out there.
Valhalla OWN3S Direct Dial (IMO).

So when you coming down?

Laguna is a vicious, vicious place. Telonics is fun as hell, though...just wish I could ride it fast.

When I moved so SoCal from SF, I told my wife I wouldn't move down here unless we were riding distance from Aliso Woods.
We are :D

Come-on bro, spill the cool-beans about the Pack! Esp with the SC fork, I got to ride the DC 6'er at IB, front end was high on those bikes.

I won't ride valhalla anymore. That trail beat me up really bad (although I already had a concussion from Direct Dial). I like Vicks, Telonics, DD, PG's (except the traverse) and steps. However, I'm a wuss now.
I haven't ridden Valhalla, but from what you've been telling me it sounds scary!

Personally, when a trail is gnarly to the point that you risk a trip to the ER every time you ride it - that kindda takes the fun out of it. Upper Ginger at Bootleg comes to mind, I don't see the "fun" part of that trail.

Well, it's all relative...the trails that a lot of us (ie, the less-skilled riders here like me) ride regularly would put lots of other bikers in danger of a trip to the ER every time...even things we think of as really tame (like Noble Canyon here in SD) are major challenges to some people.

Lots of stuff at Laguna scares me.

But, uh, if you ride a 6-pack, you'll be so awesome you don't need to worry about it, right? Go Turner!

I'll ride any trail there except PG's and valhalla, they're just not worth me going to the ER again. (this coming from the stoney who would air into the rockfall on karpiel and try to step-step vietnam). They're burly.
Any of these trails can be a lot of fun one day and then bite you in the ass the next. That's what is great about them...you always have to take them seriously. Well, Telonics is really tame and Stairsteps is cake, but the others will spank you if you don't focus.

Actually with the traverse rock on PG's I think I win the best ragdoll at Laguna contest. Now that Summer's over and I might ride somewhere other than BB, I will make traverse rock my bitch. After I get insurance.

IMO there is only really one "Hard" part on Valhalla (you roll down a nice rock to a SMALL flat spot, Jam on the brakes, and make a 90 degree left into a SCARY 30ft tall drop-in littered with ruts adn rocks.) If you walk that part after the 90 degree left, then the rest of Valhalla is actually pretty fun.
Never done PG though.

And yet, you'll find a way of blowing yourself up anyhow! I think Telonics and Steps, at speed, are as technical as anything.

There should never be any walking on Valhalla. Ride it, or don't. :p

BTW- Cave Drop on Valhalla can be a bit of a challenge as well.

Nope... for some reason I can do that part pretty good.
(I assume you are talking about the part a little above the bowling alley)

I'm talking about the very last part of the trail.

Roll down a big rock to a small flat landing and then SHARP left down this STEEP loose rutted rock filled dirt section. Big tree at the bottom.

Yeah... the bowling alley is fun, but I biffed big time on that drop just after it.
I landed ok, but then my front tire washed out on a root and I went OTB.

What are chances that we can here how the 6 Pack handles, esp with a single crown fork?

Does stu hit the board at all?

Thanks rat for the pic's, I was just about to abort the order of the 6 Pack and buy a Titus Supermoto. Now I have to think about it somemore.

I don't think Stu hits RM - but I know Sgt. Brown does, and he's got some time on the 6-pack as well.

Stu hits this board every so often. Earlier today Stu said he was going to post a review in the Turner forum on MTBR. As soon as the review is posted I'll cross post it here on Ridemonkey.

Mark,

I thought the trail you knocked yourself out on was PG's. That trail is by far the hardest at Aliso to ride. I have attempted the traverse rock section like 20+ times and have only pulled it off clean once. I don't know what the hell I was thinking of trying to ride it on my hardtail.
I wonder if anyone his ridden it from top to bottom without dabbing.

Also any one in "The OC" want to shuttle when it drys out a bit.

Brian and I were planning on shovelling and shuttling sometime soon. Since it's raining now, this weekend would be good.

I'm up for it... but I might be at the rampage this weekend.

I still have not hit most of these trails... I've been shown where they are, but I've only ridden Stair Steps and Iris (riding alone or with less aggressive riders). I'm always looking for people to ride with that will hit this stuff.

Anytime someone wants an extra body to do trail maintenance/dig... PM me! I'd be more than happy to help.

Speaking of which - CarbonFetish: anything planned for TR? Haven't been there in a while, but last time the course was trashed...

I have a nice Shuttle truck, but you might have to wait for me a bit, as I know you will dust me.

Oh... btw, nice meeting you up at BB. And it's Buddha Bomber, not Buffalo Bill. ;)
