I recently crashed hard up at fort william(again) and twisted my avy dhf8 really really badly , it looked like it was broken. anyway what with going to hospital and everything i havent been able to get to the bike for 3 days now, i know little about the properties of metal but will leaving the fork twisted like that for a long period of time do any damage or not?

Loosen up the crown bolts and see what happens. But no, if for some reason the aluminum hasn't deformed already, keeping it under stress will increase the likelyhood of it happening.

I hope you're okay now, I would call Craig and see what he has to say. Also how are you liking the fork? I'm thinking about getting 8" Ti one.

if you leave it as is it will deffinatly weeken the fork. if you ride it hard or crash again it will twist it even more or even brake it. and you dont want that to happen. deffinatly call craig and see what he would do about it.and try kidwoos suggestion also.

and i hope you can hop back on a bike soon man.
