Keep in mind there is no IMBA representation or affiliation AFAIK with either of these groups and as mountain bikers aren't organized at all, this might be a good time to see what the land managers etc have in mind. Neither of these meetings have been well publicized.

sorry for the late notice on this one.

At the last meeting of Inland Northwest Trails (new group) , it was decided to form committees to work on different interests within our broad spectrum of
advocacy.

The rural recreational trails committee will be meeting on October 13. If
you have an interest in hiking on soft trails, equestrian, mountain biking,
etc. please join us for this meeting.

City bike routes will not be discussed ... anyone doing so will be
dispatched on their bicycle to do a century!

and,

Friends of Mount Spokane will be having a meeting as a precursor to
developing an overall plan for trail development at Mt Spokane State Park.
This is the advisory council I believe, the public comment time period is
not open YET.

here's the info I have on that one.

The
Friends Group decided to take the initiative and work on a proposal for a
permanent trail plan that would go to the Commission and then go out to the
community for discussion and approval. If we don't get this started, it
will never happen. Since the Commission is requiring a trail plan before
any other trail modifications are made, in its absence there can be no
further improvements to the system and it will continue to degrade. Our
next meeting is Tuesday, November 2 at 6:30 PM at the Argonne Library and
you are welcome to attend.

Note on Mount Spokane, I've talked to the head ranger and the intention is to keep trails open for all users. IMBA is supposed to come up in the spring to start marking out new routes, and the supposed goal is to have more well built trails for all users. There were some rumors circulating that trails would get closed to bikers, but aside from the natural reserve and one ( 150?) that is badly eroded, they are all going to remain open.

Sweet i'm a little upset i never got to ride the Minehaha trails out there, they looked flowy, funm and full of rock drop and chute potential.
The Mt. Spokane area is super nice, and not a far drive from the city. Good luck on those projects, hopefully more and more trails open up out there and increase the numbers of riders. :thumb:
