My own world inside my head
First soldier since Vietnam to fall in battle from my home town here in Yucaipa. Its a big thing here in tow, Specially with Tyle'rs attitude of living, and his attitude towards his funeral. He believed greatly that he fought for this country's rights, fought for our safety etc etc. In his will before he fell he already had written that he does not want anyone to wear black at his funeral, but to come in happy attire, and be patriotic.....

Yes I know him, we are friends with the family.....

I just received notice that the westboro baptists church group is in town for hi funeral this Friday. The funeral happens to be two driveways down from the house here, so this should get interesting....... Already some of the local motorcycle clubs are planning on being there, I look forward to my "welcoming" of this group myself. The company owner sent out notice that if they come into any of our stores to refuse there business... PERIOD.

Sorry for the rant, just a little sick to my stomach to find this radical jackass so called church group is in my town to protest a soldiers funeral, let alone one that I know.......... Myself and a few select biker friends are going for a "ride" in a little bit.

I've always wondered... is point blank firing of an air horn considered to be assault/battery? I think that would be a very effective method of dealing with them, without actually touching them.

When they were in our town the police drowned them out with bagpipes.

Can you quick organize a gay pride parade/ass sex festival in your yard?
Do you know the local Hell's Angles, Mongols or Nomad chapter?
If the funeral is near your home, you're within your rights to fence your front yard with razor wire. So are all of your neighbors.
Might I suggest seeing if you can get several death metal bands to come play?
What was your fallen friend's favorite band? It might be time to rent a very large, very loud PA system and crank the most offensive favorite of your friend.
Cover the sidewalks in broken glass.
Rent a Moto GP air horn.
Host a bikini and dildo deep throat contest in your front yard.
Pass out sex ed lit from the local chapter of Planned Parenthood.
Host a meeting of the Church of Satan in the street.
Cover everyone's lawn in fresh steer manure.
Run your sprinklers on top of the cow ****.
Remove the valve stems from their vans. Wait for all hell to bust loose. Watch them drive away on the rims.

You know, I won't say sorry for the loss, be congratulations on sharing part of this young warrior's life and being a friend. He certainly lived the warrior's code, served proudly and sang hiss death song and died like a hero going home. Rest well, we indeed have the watch.

And Westboro, eat a bag of dicks. I hope these fine citizens you protest with your stupidity get to personally send you to hell.

Lets just say, more than a few clubs are now in attendance to both the funeral and the graveside.......

Lets also say, if certain events unfold right, they will be escorted out of town tonight

Well seems attention was gotten

The memorial service for Tyler Davis will be on Friday, June 22 at 1 p.m. at the Yucaipa Christian Church. Following the service which is estimated to conclude about 2:15 p.m., will be a processional which will include the Patriot Riders, local law enforcement, military personnel, etc.
The processional will go from the church on Bryant to Yucaipa Blvd. down Yucaipa Blvd. to Fifth, left on Fifth past his Memorial banner on Wildwood Canyon, to County LIne and onto the freeway. The burial will take place at Stewart Sunnyslope Cemetery in Beaumont. The community is invited to attend the service and/or line the processional route. Tyler requested no one wear black at his funeral. Those who do line the processional route are asked to wear red, white and blue if possible.

*UPDATE Yucaipa police department and city staff have met and learned that there may not be anyone from the Westboro group to show up. On the Westboro website, they have planned and organized protests listed, but Tyler Davis' service is posted as a press release. Law enforcement believes this means there will mostly likely not be an organized group, and the press release is more to alert anyone (from the Westboro organization) who may be in the area at the time of the service to "stop by." Additional law enforcement will also be present.
Seems a few people have decided to leave town after last night.......

Unfortunately it is the people like you that fuel their fire. No disrespect meant.

It is because people keep giving them media attention and keep putting their name out on the internet, that they can keep doing this. They also pay random people that barely share their views, to protest for them.

It pisses me off to no end, especially at a fellow soldiers funeral, but I act like they don't even exist. We fight for all Americans to have free speech and other freedoms, and this is how these "people" choose to use their given freedoms.

My condolences for yours and the families loss!

I understand what your saying, and I agree on freedom of speech, but there are things that you cannot say even with freedom of speech. For me protesting anyone's funeral regardless of belief's it just unacceptable. I know that no disrespect is meant in what you say, because sadly there is truth to it. Truth to it or not, I will stand up for those who stand up for me in their time of need.

:stupid:
I've refrained so far from posting in this thread because I was afraid it would sound disrespectful, which was certainly not my intent. It pains me deeply that these WBC folks exist at all, and they have come through Colorado Springs more than once to spout their obscene world view more than once at a soldiers funeral. I still believe they have that right, no matter how foul a rational person finds their views. My fear when ever I hear that a "counter protest" is planned though, is exactly what RUFUS is talking about. It's the real life version of "feeding the trolls". WBC really has taken the whole "no such thing as bad publicity" to epic levels, and I honestly believe that if they are ignored long enough, they will go away. That said, I sympathize with the position of having those tards at my loved ones funeral. I too would wish horrific violence upon them, so easier said than done for sure.

My sincerest condolences for your loss, and my sympathies to the family.

Local sheriff was currently on assignment for traffic control for the procession which went all through town...... They came down to the local bakers once the procession was done and asked nicely for everyone to clear the road........

Good to hear that people came together and stopped those WBC f***tards from having a successful protest. I'm so surprised that no major violence has happened towards those idiots.

***EDIT*** My wife has some family members that are part of a motorcycle group (The Freedom Riders) that goes to the soldiers funerals and helps keep those WBC dumbasses from getting anywhere close.
