ARBIL, Iraq (Reuters) - U.S. forces stormed an Iranian consular office in the northern Iraqi Kurdish city of Arbil early on Thursday and arrested five people, including diplomats and staff, Iranian officials said.

The U.S. military made no direct mention of Iranians but in answer to a query issued a statement saying six "individuals" were arrested during "routine" operations in the area.

As the overnight raid was in progress, President George W. Bush was vowing in a keynote address on American television to disrupt what he called the "flow of support" from Iran and Syria for insurgent attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq.

So isn't a consulate like an embassy and considered to be the soil of that countries?

Now that we've got a large military force in Iraq, it's time to invade (slowly) Iran and Syria.

You didn't think the additional 20,000 troops we're sending were just going to police Iraq and create stability, did ya?

Can't get congress or the 'Merican people to support invading Iran, just pick a fight.
Exactly.

Remember when Rummy was verbally picking a fight with Syria, about six months after we invaded? Now we have "justified" reasons for invading their embassies, hoping to instigate.

simplistic to say the least but it would so nice to just turn that whole area into a really big glass parking lot...
Yeah, killing millions of innocent people so as not to trouble ourselves any further does sound a bit simplistic.

Actually Ive lost weight since the Marines cause I dont lift anymore. :busted:

And I only had 4 ribbons and only one was unearned. "National Defense Ribbon" or "boot camp ribbon" as its nicknamed, which basically you get for serving during a time of war. Course, i didnt get it in bootcamp cause 911 hadnt happened yet, and I did contribute a bit, but still, I didnt gun anyone down for it...sadly.

Hey they started it all back in 78 when they took over our Embassy. This was just the result of YEARS of careful planning!
Stinkle, better go find your ribbons, I bet you earned all of them...
