Anyone riding UCSC between Xmas and New Years? I'm off work and want to finally it the trails over there. I need someone to show me around though. I used to ride Mailbox a lot back in the late 90s when I was racing but moved away for a while and really just started riding a lot again. I used to hear about Dead Campers back then but never quite made it there.

I am trying to get a couple of days in at Tahoe over the next week but am pretty flexible. The weather will be the big determining factor. How is UCSC after a rain?

After this much rain UCSC is going to be pretty muddy. I rode in Cowell across the valley from UC today. It wasn't bad at the top of the hill.

Looks like its going to rain for the rest of the week. Once the rain chills out it wont be so sloppy out there. But I am totally game then. =]

I still need to try out my new forks (888's) and helmet (Troy Lee D2).

I finally had time off from work and the weather was horrible the whole time. I got a great surf session in the morning of Xmas eve and then nothing. No snow and no bike.

It'll probably be a few weekends before I can over now.

This weekend is supposed to be clear. Also, highway 9 in between Felton and Santa Cruz is closed so no rangers should be around!

D.C. should be fine, it drains well, but dont ride the oter trails right after it rains or we'll be stuck with giant ruts for the rest of the winter.
