Overeem on the juice?

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Alistair-Overeem-Tests-Positive-for-Elevated-Testosterone-Must-Appear-Before-Nevada-Commission-41607

Considering that he went from 205 to 260 in a few years, I'm not surprised.
He didn't go from 205 to 260. Why do people think 205ers go to whatever weight they are at HW. Most LHWs cut weight. Overeem was cutting so much in pride he had gassed like hell and he claimed to be pissing blood so he was probably 220-230 come fight night. He also got older in the age one gets a lot of muscle. A friend of mine was 170 and went to 205 in 2 years of very little training and pure muscle mass. Just the right age and genetics can make it possible.

Not that I'm defending reem here.

Any predictions for Bones vs Evans?

I personally hope that Rashad gets the snot beat out of him.
I think this will be a close fight. I would not be surprised if Evans pulls out the upset.

I hear the line is something like 6:1 so if you want to make some money bet on Sugar.

Most illegal PEDs don't make you dramatically thinner and he still eats like **** so he could have been on it and using the strength advantage. Though I think they did it just to be fair.

Nelson's test came back negative because when he attempted to give his sample all that came out was a Crisco like substance that was deemed un-testable.

Side topic; I've been watching TUF from it's inception, and although it has been a bit of a sideshow, I enjoy the fights and watching the new upcoming guys. Sure, the fights were a bit strategic in that they were just putting in enough effort to win without risking injury, but every once in a while you would get a jem.

That being said, since they've moved to FX and changed the host/announcers and the whole over all feel of the show, I find it to be practically un-watchable. I think I am done with it...it's that bad (It was never great to begin with, but was still entertaining).

Anybody else feel the same?

I watch them online and skip to the fights. The rest of the show is horrible. I used to watch the whole show to see the training and techniques they are working on but there is way too much stupid drama.

Yeah, I am with you guys. I used to watch to catch some training and such, now I just watch the fights, if I remember to catch it at all. I liked it much better on spike.

I can do w/o the drama between the contestants, but I like watching the drama between the coaches. Gives you insight into how these fighters are as people. For example, I used to be a Faber fan, but I'm not any more.

I'll just leave this here.

I was so happy with that win. It would be awesome if Big Ben stayed in that shape.

As for Shad vs JJ it really annoys me when fighters get the bones scare and don't fight when they have the chance. Rashad won the 1st round and untill those elbows I'd say he wasn't that much worse than Jones, he lacked power but winning a Frankie Edgar like victory would be possible if he chased it. Before elbows I remember them being like 35 to 45 significant strikes. Then it went 45 to 85 or 105 for Jones. 10 significant strikes in 3 rounds?
Page got the same scare.

Also why no one went for the legs with Jones? If someone turned the fight into a Pat Barry vs Beltran it would be easily winnable. Of course you still need attack and defense on top level not to get KTFO before you chop those legs but why is no one kicking them? Grabbing them? I'd say either chop those legs or give Palhares enough steroids to get him to 205 and tell him the fight lasts 3 minutes and see what happens.

Was it only me or does Palhares not know of the world defense ? If he played it right he might not have been KTFO and have had another run at Belchers legs. It's stupid because he would eventually get it no matter how good Belcher is Palhares went trough the best leg log specialist in the world in 2011 ADCC if I'm not wrong. It seems like he doesn't know what to do when he is on the defense.

I think he was just stunned.

Belcher is the first guy to not be scared on the ground with Toquinho. Then after that first big elbow he was rocked. But you are right if Palhares would have closed the guard and held on he would have been in much better shape.

Some pretty high level Jits going down there. Watch the breakdown to get the finer points.

Do yourself a favor and stop watching around 13:00 or so unless you want to watch a few mins of shameless product whoring.

I dind't see either of them actually smoke. Not saying that they don't, just that it isn't in the video.
Funny how the two of them sound exactly alike. I htought it was Nate talking at first till I realized Nick had the camera.

Not really important but...

Broski hands the pipe to the camera man and I'm just gonna assume that Nick is behind the lenz (although there is no proof of that either). So it was either his piece or he was next in the roto.

Either way I thought it was cool because they are MTBers. I knew they are triathletes but didn't realize they get down in the dirt too.

Or he was handing it to the person bdhind him for Broski. Not likely, but there is no proof that he didn't do that either.

i'm drunk on the haterade!!

Meh, I just didn't really get much out of the video, I think we should use a bit more discretion when labeling something the cool"est", funni"est", etc that's all.

He's lost 3 fights in a row, all by KO. He's done unless Dana is getting soft. There are a lot of HW's now. I haven't seen enough Ubereem to judge, bud I have a feeling Junior will get another KO win before the end of the 3rd.

Lol Wut? How did he get a title fight if he lost 3 in a row? Or do you mean title fights? I'm pretty sure Randy, BJ and a few others lost quite a few title fights and they are still in the UFC. I think you don't understand how the business works. Even if Mir is not worth as much to the UFC it makes sense to keep him there because some other promotion can build itself up on ex ufc champs and top fighters. If not for Barnett Affliction would have done that VERY fast.

He was on a three fight win streak before this weekend and has won 7 of his last 10.

Not only that but he is the only HW with a legit submission game. Honestly I was way more excited to see the fights on the original card. Cain v Mir would have been a great grappling battle, bjj v wrestler, and JDS v Ubereem would have been a match up of the two of the best HW strikers.

For me the upcoming JDS v Cain II fight should seal the deal on weather or not JDS is the total package.

"It doesn't matter if I'm on the bottom, the side, the top - it doesn't matter," Silva said when asked how he would avoid taking the damage he took in the first fight. "Chael Sonnen's going to get his ass kicked like he's never gotten his ass kicked before. What I'm going to do inside the octagon is something that's going to change the image of the sport. I'm going to beat his ass like he's never been beaten before. I'm going to make sure that every one of his teeth are broken, his arms are broken, (and) his legs are broke. He's not going to be able to walk out of the octagon by himself. I can guarantee that."

Good god, I ****ing hope Anderson ****ing does what he says, I want to see the guy who obliterated Franklin and Griffin. I dont want to see him do what he did to Belfort. I'd like to see him smash Sonnen into the floor.

Surprise surprise. Chael already jumped on some random MMA show to get his response out there.

By the way did anyone else see this brutal KO of Roger Huerta?

It's funny that he's calling him a dirtbag, dude is a massive douche.

Listen to is post fight interview where he's talking about how anderson didnt actually win the first time, Oh Im sorry Chael was that not you tapping out the first time? He talked so much **** about how he ran that fight but ultimately it was Chael who tried taking it to the ground and it was Chael who got caught and gave up. Fcuk that dude.

I saw someone post saying Chael hates playstation because it has a triangle button.

I would like to see Anderson not clown and beat his roid ass. I'm with blackohio, I would like to see a Franklin style beat down.

He broke Franklin. Broke him so bad he jumped to LHW.
