I would like to see Anderson not clown and beat his roid ass. I'm with blackohio, I would like to see a Franklin style beat down.

He broke Franklin. Broke him so bad he jumped to LHW.

<edit> My ribs hurt just thinking about those clinch knee shots...
Nvm Franklin. I want him to Corey Hill his legs and make his face looking worse than Hommnick after Aldo.

btw. I love how Chael claimed BJJ is gay and doesn't work and then tapping not much later.

I still say my favorite sub was Silva vs. Lutter with a triangle, then pulverizing him with elbows to his head. IIRC, the tap was from strikes, but either way the dude was done.

At least Chael is a gamer and won't likely spend time running for his life. I was disappoint with Guida's last fight, running for his life and stuff.

I though being a gamer in mma meant having silly game plans like that. I'm really dissapointed with Guida. His fights were entertaining before the new Jackson idea.

By gamer I mean a fighter, brawler, not afraid to stand and fight. Chael isn't one to run away, I want to see him get a beat down.

Guida had dropped some hard shots and I thought he was going to take it. But he wasn't following his shots up or putting many combos together. It was like he was looking for that one shot.

The problem with Jackson is that sometimes he thinks he has found a great gameplan but it doesn't always for the fighter. Guida being non agressive is a silly idea.

It's funny that he's calling him a dirtbag, dude is a massive douche.

Listen to is post fight interview where he's talking about how anderson didnt actually win the first time, Oh Im sorry Chael was that not you tapping out the first time? He talked so much **** about how he ran that fight but ultimately it was Chael who tried taking it to the ground and it was Chael who got caught and gave up. Fcuk that dude.

I saw someone post saying Chael hates playstation because it has a triangle button.
Anderson was hurt in the first fight, and had told Nog that he would submit Chael as well. Did not go for the ko. Sonnen talked bad about Nog, Jits, and Brazil. Getting him to submit was the only way that fight was going to end out of respect to Nog and Jiu Jitsu..
I have a feeling that this will turn into a Franklin/Leban/Griffin style beating. He will toy with him after he is hurt, keep letting him up, beating him more, then finish it after. I really would not want to be Sonnen walking into that cage.

As long as he does it before the end of the 3rd. I don't want to watch him clown for 20 minutes.

Man, I almost forgot just how bad the Griffin beating was. KO from a straight shot from the hip. He didn't even wind up or anything. It almost looked like a poke, but the sum of all damage.

You don't get KO'd from the sum of the damage. Unless Forest has terrible recovery (he doesn't) it was just a very accurate hit on a fighter coming into you. That's why counterpunching is so powerful. It looks like an weaker shot but if the fighter is coming your way the force is quite big. Not to mention he is not expecting a hit so his neck muscles are looser = easier to kick the head back and rattle the brain.

As for Anderson Raping Chael. I'm not so sure about that. I want that to happen but Chael has a good style for Anderson. I say submission i the latter rounds again.

that ****ing knee, jesus. What in the **** was he thinking spinning back fist, it's like he was trying to get wrecked. Anderson dodged that **** like it came in the mail.

Best part is you can see Anderson trip chael after the spin (not sure if intentional or not) then it was over. Chael knew at that moment too that it was game over and he handed Anderson the win. I bet Chaels chest feels real nice today.

I also loved ready from all chaels nutswingers about how the knee was illegal, how Cheal still domintated yada yada. End of the day, Anderson's still the best fighter the UFC has ever seen, and will likely remain so for a couple more years. I dont see anyone stopping him.

Watched the fights in a bar. Giant roided out dbag yelling about an illegal knee. I really wish that I had this gif to show him... The phantom trip during the back-fist was even more impressive than this knee. The two best things from the pre-fight video. Sonnen was practicing the spinning back elbow/fist, and Seagal planting a big kiss on Anderson before the ref-check.
The knee was legal.

Anderson knows how to fight. The knee is the real deal and anyone who is paying attention knows Anderson Silva is sniper accurate with any strike. He knew where he was putting that knee and he hit it dead on.

Watched at a bar as well. Roided out Affliction hat dude next to me cried foul as well. I reminded him it's only "knees to the head of a grounded opponent" that are illegal. Wouldn't back down till the gigantor of a samoan near by backed my comment.

I think Sonnen's sternum is cracked. That thing flexed an unnatural amount.

Silva's knees are no joke, ask Rich Franklin.

Add the cage behind him, the momentum and downforce of the blow, and the position he was in. Talk about a rock and a hard place.

<edit> That gif is gnarly.

Watched Nate Diaz tap to a toe hold in his match with Augusto Queixinho this weekend @ the Gracie Open. Only took ~20 seconds

Also the UFC action over the weekend was crazy! Now who gets the next shot at Bones?

I thought he backed out of that. Or was it Nick?

As for Bones it is Hendo in september.

i think i saw somewhere hendo gets the next shot .
I know it's already on the calendar.

Dana stated that whoever won most impressively among Shogun v Vera and Machida v Bader would get dibs after Hendo (assuming Bones is still champ, I'm rooting for Hendo by TRT rage).

IMO both wins were pretty impressive.

Nick was supposed to fight Diego Herzog at the Gracie Open over the weekend. He didn't show up (I saw Diego there looking beastly as ever).

This was just a local tourny put on by Cesar Gracie. You may be thinking about the whole debacle with Braulio Estima a few months ago.

On a side note. I loled hard when Cesar did not know the rules and I had to get a copy of the IBJJF rule book that my team mate brought. Some guy with a 10th Planet shirt on subed his opponent with a banana split and Cesar DQed him. OOPS turns out that sub is 100% legal!

I thought Rua looked old and slow thus making Brandon Vera look better than he actually is. I thought Machida looked great and you can tell that Bader had no idea what to do against his style.
Rua has been in too many wars. It's starting to get to him. Although, I couldn't tell if Rua was looking bad or Vera was looking good.

Bader played right into Machida's hands, didn't even try to shoot once, just came in swinging with his chin in the air.

BTW here's what Jones had to say about fighting the four guys who were on the card Saturday.

Out of the four guys Lyoto was the toughest puzzle, brandon had the biggest mouth, bader felt the strongest, shogun lasted the longest.

Also if Jacare keeps his improving his standup he is gonna be a UFC title contender soon.

anyone see Chael say if he went to 205 he'd take Jone's belt, it would be like stealing candy from a kid.

This idiot doesnt know when to quit or shut up. It's one thing if you talk that game and the last dude you did it two twice didnt still have his belt. I hope Chael goes to 205 and we get to witness yet another defeat.

I think he already has a match scheduled against Forrest at 205 so we will probably see Chael fight Jones sooner than later. There is no one else for Jones to fight if he beats Hendo (supposedly Machida is up next).

PS Forrest caught Chael in a triangle back in the day lol

i would like to see her at 135 against an undoped cyborg.
Wouldn't be surprised if it ended by armbar.

and all the fans and all the promoters and all the event staff

I never liked JBJ but until now I didn't have any good reason to dislike him. Bones and Jackson really blew it on this one.

Not news, but just watched GSP vs Dan Hardy on Netflix.

Ligament nightmare. No idea how that ended with both dudes in one piece. Mainly hardy...

Almost. Then he used that elbow to smash Vitor numerous times over the next three rounds and returned the favor in the end.

True...

But the word on the street is that old man Vitor was fighting with a broken hand. That would explain why he wasn't using his usual strategy of "hit them in the head till they fall over".

If its true then you gotta give the guy his props.
