Ultegra rear mech + X.7 shifter ????

Will it work.....????

I have searched everywhere for a similar setup and a thumbs up but no good.

As far as I can tell the X.7 is ESP 1:1 but I cannot get the ratio for a Ultegra rear mech.

My DH ride has a super low BB (Avanti D8) and I run a 32t up frotn with a roadie cluster and an Ultegra. I'd go all SRAM but the impression I get is they are not as bashable (not good for me trust me :( ) so I wish to keep the Ultegra rear.
I am going all SRAM on the trail bike and want to keep the shifting experience as similar as possible between rides/bikes.

Sorry if this one has been posted to death but I had a good look around and couldn't find a difinitive answer.

Cheers

That combo will not work. Shimano uses a 2:1 cable pull ratio while the SRAM "ESP" system uses the 1:1. I know the X.9 comes in a "short" cage and a long cage. I am sure if X.7 does not have a shorter cage available.

SRAM's shimano-compatible stuff is not given letter/number designations, but names like "attack" and "rocket." If they're making rocket or attack triggers now, that's what you need...but last I knew they only did twists, and they didn't work as well as the ESP (1:1 SRAM ratio) stuff.
