Indeed....she's just trying to do the best she can. She's not launching her children into the sky in a balloon or neglecting them, or beating them.

There are a lot of parents out there doing far worse things than she is. I'm sure she didn't WANT to be born that way.

Since this got PAWN'd...

While I agree that her wanting to have a normal life as possible is admirable under the circumstances and that she didn't want to be born that way...I find it kind of odd that she's 1) playing roulette with her own life and 2) going ahead and having kids when the chances of her having a kid with the same genetic defect as herself is rather high.

1. It is HER life.
2. So... giving birth to a midget is a bad thing?
Just because it's fun to point and laugh at them and push them over when they're drunk doesnt mean they cant lead perfectly meaningful lives.

1. It is, but I think it's not in her best interest to have kids when the chances that it could kill her are higher than a "normal" woman.

2. No. I don't think her condition is one of just dwarfism. From my perspective, if I was born with a hereditary/genetic defect, such as this, then I would not want to willingly bring a child into the world knowing that he/she would have the same disadvantages/disabilities as myself. It seems rather selfish, IMHO.

Breeding defects...sweet. A while back I watched a story about a women who had some rare genetic condition that caused her vertebrae in her neck to not be able to support her head. She had to have them all fused. She had three daughters, all with the same genetic problem. I suspect their kids will have the same issue. We're going to undue evolution in record time.
