Because 3 Americans have died (I think that's what the total is so far, in a mudslide yesterday) that's equivalent to 160,000 brown people in another county.
Im a little confused about this whole Tsunami thing.
I mean, its not as if these people's fresh water or food come from the beach. Why would a big wave that didnt even go a quarter mile in-shore destroy all their food and water? So why exactly is the world supplying all that?
Sure, some of them probably eat fish, but that alone cant justify all thats being sent. Medical supplies, sure, I know they need that, but WTF?
I think more than 160,000 have died in Iraq, but no one seems to be wanting to help that situation. I guess the world picks and chooses its charity cases.

Perhaps some of their infrasrtucture was destroyed by water. Fresh water pumps running on electricity ruined when they were submerged, the sewer system may be flooded and spewing raw sewage everywhere which could contaminate water supplies. Power lines may be damaged so that anything running on electricity will not work. Salt water can really mess things up. Just my thoughts, don't take my word as gospel (unless you want to donate your cash to me!).

Come the new year and Shirley is just as clueless as ever. I'd venture that the total aid pledged for the rebuilding of Iraq is, if not more than the amount pledged to help the victims of the tsunami, then very close to that amount.

Somehow there is a difference between thousands of people killed by a sudden inescapable natural disaster and by planned and calculated ongoing monumental human stupidity and greed. There is not much point in trying to rebuild Iraq until warring armies stop using it as a battleground.
The water supplies of the villages wiped out by the tsunami are poisoned by salt water, debris, and sewage from damaged septic systems. The food supplies for millions of people were destroyed by the wave and spoiled by the lack of power to preserve it in the aftermath. You must have heard it described by Colin Powell as by far the worst scene of devastation he has ever seen. The LA quake of a few years back was a fender-bender compared to this, as was 911 in New York. But we didn't hear any complaining when people were asked to contribute to those unfortunate victims. I guess if only a couple of real people (Americans) were involved in the tsunami it's no big deal, right?
Yep, about a 10 minute drive from my house. After the slide in 1994, there is no way in hell I would be haning around La Conchita in this type of rain. My mom knew one of the 5 people killed.
And N8, it is now clear to me why you have the 'tool' custom title.
