So.....while our little buddy is doing just, he too has recently been diagnosed with autism. He's been mostly non-verbal. poor eye contact etc. But he's getting lots of support from the hospital. Fortunately he's getting very early intervention. So that should make a big difference.
In a company of 60 people, 3 of us with kids on the autism spectrum. (one of them is Asperger's). weird.
the incidence of diagnosed dsm-iv-defined-conditions on upper-middle-class, upper-class if much higher than average probably because the access to higher quality health care is better.. big surprise
it would be interesting to know whats the average age for fatherhood/motherhood in your company too, engineering compànies tend to employ people (engineers and other nerds) who have kids a relatively late age...
