it's time to upgrade my cranks on my good old 1995 m2 Stumpjumper. I'm planning to buy a set of Shimano XT FC-M752 Cranks on ebay. Will I have any problems with this upgrade in terms of compatibility with my current 8 speed set up? Do i just have to buy a 9 speed chain?

Also, the crankset includes a 68MM x 113MM bottom bracket, will that work? Does anyone know what bb size the 1995 M2 Specialized Stumpy is?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to run an 8sp chain.

If you aren't going to use your current rings, you may find that depending on age that the chain and rear cogs are worn and are going to need to replaced.

For the most part, cranks determine spindle length not the frame. That frame should take a 68mm BB, but you could just measure the BB width to be sure.
