If the insurgents really cared about the Iraqi people they wouldn't occupy civilian areas, using mosques and residential areas as cover. But they don't, knowing the political ramifications for the US, and unecessary carnage (both physical and human)occurs. The US attempts to minimize physical damage and civilian casualties, while ultimately unsuccessful on both counts, is why battles like Fallujah last more than a few days.

Innocent civilians left Fallujah WEEKS ago...

Those that stayed wanted to enjoy the weenie roast that was to come later...

Changleen, how many times do I have to say it? "Its not ****ing Napalm"
We only use "Geneva Convention Approved" flamable liquids on our vallant foes.

It is a guerilla war. Very different state of affairs.
Definitely, if they are placing improvised explosive devices, that look like tarps, soda cans, and other garbage alongside highways and roads where U.S. convoys travel, it is not a pretty little battle anymore. When soldiers go into "friendly" homes in Iraq and ask citizens if they have any weapons (of any kind) and they say "no, no, no, we have no weapons" but the soldiers search and find crates of RPGs and explosives, and more than the allowed number of AKs in ONE household, then how can the U.S. soldiers even come close to trusting the word of possible insurgents.

IMO, The dirty fighting and scrapper battles that insurgents began is the reason for the U.S. to bring in other means of fighting and attempt to contain the rebels.

Yes it's a guerrilla war, but why do people turn into ‘terrorists’?
I think you can find the answer yourself…well probably not, so imagine what you would do when you where living in Iraq and the -war- landed in your backyard. Would you sit back and enjoy the beautiful explosions and make nice pic's of your dead relatives and friends or would you fight against the ‘illegal occupier’?

I find it hard to believe that people still agree with this war and have a clear conscience (and believe that God will bless America  )
But why bother... the war is already won - mission accomplished according to your leader.

Ps. posting a reply because someone made a typing error is childish, especially when English is my third language, but hey… it’s a forum full of people who can’t even express themselves in a decent way, in their own language.

Technically they become "terrorists" when they fight without uniforms and come from outside the contested nation (nation being a peoples, not a nationa state) I believe. I am not saying if they are or not, as they are also the text book definition now of an insurgent force (well, the native iraqis anyways).
