This doesn’t seem to be getting any press on Pinkbike or Vital. They’ve cut a new 2 mile course from the top of the gondola. A few big names stopping by to race on the way to MSA. Vergier, Fearon, Kerr, Wyn Masters, I assume Neko since he was in on the trail building. Should be a good show. I’ll be up riding/watching/partying all weekend with a big crew. Killington seems to be making a hard push for a WC. Hopefully this helps.

It’s worth the trip. They’ve done some great work up there the last few years.
6.5 hour drive for me. maybe in another year or 2, that's a long weekend trip for me. especially with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. once their a bit older i can make them my wife's problem for the weekend. :D although my son seems to be on the road to ruin, er, uh, i mean being a mountain biker :busted:

My wife and I are back to work this week after 2 weeks up at Killington. They were building a new trail (presumably for this event) off the top of the Gondola lift. It drops in over by the restaurant under the lift and does a very steep down into a 90 degree left turn. Crosses over a small meadow and had a wood feature jump into the woods. They were still working on it as of a week or so ago.

Sun is shining right now in Killington. Still waiting for a few guys to show up and we will be hitting the trails shortly. Gonna be a great weekend!

In hell. Welcome!
Funny to see a preview of a mountain you know. Those rocky sections in the woods are properly rough and the steep sections are properly steep.

The upper trails off of the gondola are slick and very wet. The lower stuff off Ramshead and the Snowshed lift are ripping. Awesome day today on the mountain!

Agreed. I was suprised at how good of shape it was in considering the rain yesterday. Ramshead side was great. The new drop on Gambler was decent, but the trail getting to it sucks. Too much climbing on the DH bike. Needs a new trail to get there. IMO.

I am really stoked to have the US Open at Killington rather than MC.. Dont get me wrong, MC is wicked AF, but the lush dense forest, off camber slick roots, different rock styles, longer steeper track is very nice for a change.

Cheers to the racers! Cant wait to see the trail cut in and people doing race speeds

Curious to see George Ryan (evil) and Jason memellar (yeti) there, only because they're riding for companies that don't have dh bikes...

Safe to say this race won't be won on an enduro bike, Definitely not on East coast knar

5 mins is a long track. The Neko preview vid made the track look slow with lots of traverses (and bizarre video edits).

Would like to see a race run vid!
