So yeah, I gotta post it 'cause I am friggin' STOKED. There are so many bad-asses going to Worlds, especially for 4X! Ross is a local ripper that I see all the time who's been working hard all year (a 1st, a 4th and a 7th) and I got to watch Leanna Gerrard's first 4X win ever at Snowmass a couple of weekends ago, so I am über psyched those two are going to be rockin' the house! How rad!

Before you say that you have to remember a couple of things. First, everyone on that list for juniors was an automatic qualification, meaning that everyone on that list took a TOP 5 at a national and WON a national as well. Those are the rules for automatic qualification and unfortunately Avery did not fill that criteria. There's no politics behind that whatsoever.

Second of all, that list did not mention selected athletes as they nave not been selected yet and as far as I know USA cycling is sending 7 juniors this year meaning Avery can still go on a selection basis as one of the 2 wild cards. The only difference is that it would be on his own dollar versus the automatic qualifiers who get all expenses paid for. My dollar is on Avery and Straight(maybe a little bit of politics there) for the wild card spot but we'll have to see what comes to pass and maybe I'll get my shot next year as I'm 5th in the standings right now and I don't think that's gonna make the cut.
