Can anybody tell me what problems you might encounter with regard to inverting a normally right-side-up fork? I'm thinking about a possible project as far as making an inverted fork, but I'm wondering if you could simply invert a standard fork and make new "uppers". I know some damping systems use open systems, but some of the newer ones are fully closed.

That might work if you're using a fork with a cartridge damper, like the travis. But you'd have to figure out a way to keep things lubricated. 888's and boxxers are prolly a bust. If you try it, post pics. Especially of the first ride on it.

what kind of forks do you own? If something like boxxers, have you disassembled them, and do the stantions have any marks under the crowns, or are they smooth from top to bottom?
