once you get over the fact its a focus you can really appricieate he machine
i have whitnessed this thing in person, very very impressive!!
in person it sounds so damn beautiful!!! its sounds like something is trying to burst out of it everytime he puts his foot down.
he has become sort of a hero around these parts, i always look out for that machine at events.

that's pretty awesome...i love the focus WRC but i didn't realize they made a street 4x4, or is that custom? looks like he's done that turn before, reminds me of driving in snow with my ur-quattro...

totally custom, he burnt out his escort cosworth a while back, geuss he wanted a change.

he certainly has done that turn before, he's bloody fast round that track.

hold on a sec, you used to drive a quattro UR?

i read that just after i posted...nice setup, i'd love a focus in awd, but ford doesn't seem to understand that cars like the sti and evo sell...hmmm

i still own the ur, but i'm not sure for how long...i blew the head gasket and i'm short on cash. it's a blast to drive, and the sound is totally different, almost a howl, rather than a braaap that 4 cylinders do. It's quick, definately the fastest car i've ever driven, but that's not saying entirely too much. It handles amazingly, and is absolutely fantastic in any inclement weather. Snow is too much fun, and that's kind of how i warped the head. The rain is fun too, but much less slick. Of course, 8" wide tires on 4 corners helps.

Haven't figured out whether i'm going to sell it for a loss or fix it...we'll have to see. There's nothing like the boost a 3500 rpm...it just sucks you back until you're doing like 130.

WOW!!! that is beautiful, it looks mint!!!
you are one lucky SOB to own that beast!!!
i'd sell all of my possetions, bike included, i'd even throw in a kidney to sweeten the deal.
just to own one.
but the real ball kicker is i could never in a million year afford the insurance.
bah, maybe in 10 or so years but by then they will be even rarer.

MARK MY WORDS, I WILL OWN ONE!!!!

They should be less rare on your shores then ours...I think anyways. Over there they were made from 81 to 91, over here we got 83-85, I think less than 600 survive.

If you have the means, I highly suggest picking one up.

Seriously though, I wonder what it might be like to own any car with turbo and AWD. This thing is mint, but if you could mess around and get 300-400 hp out of it...(ie STI, EVO) that thing would be nuts! No wonder they're such fun cars. I gotta save up a little more and throw EFI on there...or maybe a 20v...then it'll really haul. i couldn't stop smiling the first time i drove it...small upgrade from the honda civic you can see in the background.

ps, i don't know about over there, but few if any insurance companies realize what this car is. You can register it as an audi coupe and they think it's the FWD N/A version....so insurance isn't that bad.

They don't realize my car has 220hp and 2.5" exhaust....
