Ok so it is just 4 days and a few hours before I head out on my first summer vacation of the year.

Friday as early as we can get on the road we will be heading from South Florida to NC. We will drive through the night and probably catch a nice nap in (probably) Dupont's trail head before hitting up some trails Saturday AM. Then I am going to try to catch up with Biggins and lay the smak down on him. (I mean do some riding and have some beer) and then some more riding until Tuesday.

Tuesday is our transition day, I would like to be in SnowShoe some time before it gets dark. So that means I am either riding some where in Asheville Tuesday AM, or some where between Asheville and SnowShoes during the day. I NEED SUGGESTIONS from the 's out there. Anyone have a good place to ride in between Asheville and SnowShoe? Since we will be getting right back into our truck it would be great if it has some facilities or at least a river to clean off in.

Then we check into SnowShoe and plan on riding there Wed-Saturday.

There ya have it, please feel free to comment so I can monitor this post until I leave on Friday. It will help the time pass faster Also anyone in the area(s) want to hook up for some riding just let me know. We will have a nice big rental pick-up that is just begging to be used as a shuttle!

Just take it EASY. I was off the bike for 4 months too, and the "feel" came back pretty quickly, but there were a few times when I just felt a little NOOBISH if you know what I mean.

Worst case scenario, you can hang back with Donna & Graf my friends that are traveling with me, they are super cool, but a little slow.

Any suggestions on what day would be best to meet up with you guys? When/where are you camping again?

we will be at south white pines group campground. when you go up 276 out of brevard and into pisgah look for a sign that says horse stables on the right. there is a dirt forest service road. go up that road. saturday would be the best day to meet up with us. you still have my cell number correct?

Yep. Although I doubt there will be any coverage in that area (at least for me) Damn AT&T!!

Do you have any idea of the level of riders you will have on Saturday? We will be just be getting in, so killing it on Saturday probably isn't a great idea. But if your group of riders is pretty mixed, I am up for anything.

very mixed group, i think i will actually be the fastest one there at least on the downhill. as for the uphill i dont think i will be very strong due to lack of cardio for the last few months.

yes breakfast and easy women. lots of them. saturday is going to be the main fun day. hopefully i will have my new hardtail built by then, its an urban bike but i figure i should just bring all of them with me.

All of the easy women I know are in Ft Lauderdale. I thought I was coming there for your easy women? I can certainly hook you guys up with some food since we will be coming from the Highway. It would be my pleasure in exchange for some guided riding.

I thought I saw a Turner XCE or something along those lines in one of your recent pics? Id think you want something that will absorb the trail for you a bit, no?

Take him on the trail you showed me and Kate. That was one of the funnest rides I have ever done...except for all the climbing that is.
