So - I get off from Dec 23rd until Jan 3rd anyway, so I am thinking about cashing the vacation in and buying a Chameleon. What's the bottom dollar anyone sees these sell for??? Can I run it with a 3" fork for a while, or is that stupid? It would be my SS with the ability to ride urban and such. Good idea or is there something better?

Pffft, never enough.

I'm almost always in the hole when it comes to vacation.

It must come as a result of my younger days when I'd take 4 months off to backpack, 5 months to travel Europe, a few months here and there just to generally f* around..........

Hell, once I got a 6-months severence package and moved out to CA to convince my then girlfriend to move back to CO with me. I got alot of riding in Marin & the East Bay while I was there.

She quit her job & moved back with me and we spent the second half of the winter skiing. :sneaky: :thumb:

I wish I had more vacation now.......... :mumble:

meh - I can't really afford to go anywhere right now, so it would be to sit on my ass. I am liking the frame idea. I won't tell Julie I can cash it in. :sneaky: kidding

If you can go on a good vacation, do it. Your memories and pictures will still be around long after you've cracked/traded/sold the frame.

If your vacation will be spent being bored and unproductive, my guess is the new frame will bring you more stress relief than a few days off.

It'd cost him like $200 plus gas to take a vacation to southern Utah. For a week. Hit up Gooseberry Mesa, etc. Check out Zion, Bryce Canyon...... maybe hit Wolf Creek Pass on the way home for a little skiing.

But he's a chicken.

I predict he sits on his a$$ and does jack squat.

Change that prediction to - he is gonna buy some kind of frame.

I will see you in the spring my friend. I will need you to mark in a day or two. As earlier stated, I will be along for a ride as the air warms.

tired of the salsa already?

how bout the new giant trance 1 frame. I hear it can be
had for round 900 bux. 3000+ built up w/fox top of the line and crossmax.

i'm thinkin of the trance 2 complete bike or a stumpie.

43 days left in Iraq.
I'm not only gunna get the new ride but take a 30 day vacation to---to the big Island for 5 of them and the rest ridin and lazin round oahu. I think I'll get a tele lens for the digital rebel I got when I was on r and r.

definately get the new frame but be prepared for all the rain you Texas folks get w/ new bikes :p

Yeh - I got a Jamis Dakar and sold the salsa a while back. It was really too small. I am thinking of a SS frame with an EBB or some kind of urban frame with horizontal dropouts. Julie pretty much signed off on it last night. Once the frame is acquired, the Dean will be sold cheap. Glad you're getting out of there soon. It'll be nice to see you around, Pete.

Cut the pup some slack. He's a 16 year old who does not have a family to think about. If I was 16, I'd probably choose a bike over a vacation. Can't say I'd do the same now. :)

That's why I put in the preface......

Isn't this the same dude who went out to Keystone & Utah this past summer? *That's* the kind of holiday I'm talking about........ always better than stuff.
