I just wrapped myself around a tree not paying attention and riding too close behind a buddy making fun of his fanny pack. Couldn't see the trail and sucked at life for a split second.
Sh!t, get better soon!
But hey, two coming outs of you within a week. First the 29er thing and now that you like to look at man butt. :o ;)

I changed my post when I realized I had no idea who that even is

fuckin enduro

Yeah she'll probably get humiliated but whatever. At least it's another female actually trying race the real peak of the sport and not stuffing lawn chairs into fanny packs and taping a microwave to their top tube.
Did she not used to race XC on the WC circuit? edited to add: she was junior XC world champ. obviously, it doesn't necessarily translate to DH, but she will be familiar with the environment, stress and general gong-show that is a WC.

Just saw your post about the tree. hope you heal up quick. I have experience with trees. they are steadfast and unwavering. it's never a good idea to mess with trees.

i got off line going mach chicken at the bottom of a run at windrock and gave one a full head/shoulder check. as i careened through the air, my only thought was not "dammit, this is going to hurt/i'm an idiot," but: "dammit, now i'm gonna have a broken collarbone like matt." matt's my buddy who breaks something every 12-18 months (yes, the exploding carbon bars guy).

back on topic, we need to start a pool next year for whether claudio's course preview or jackalope's prediction post will drop first before each race.

This was the result of my tree incident:
upload_2017-8-23_13-40-25.jpeg

It hit so hard, I literally knocked the fat out of my love handles. I still have a sore spot, and numbness around the main bruise. This was back mid-June, so two months ago or so.

Regarding the race, I find it too hard to predict. It will certainly be one of:
Hart
Minaar
Brosnan
Gwin
Moir

It will certainly be an exciting race.

For the womens, I'm thinking Rachel is still not quite strong enough yet for the pain this course dishes out. I predict Tahnee
Rach
Tracey

Oh. ehm. gee. I forgot to include Bruni and Vergier in the list of potential winners.

whoever wins champs, which is later, I think??? I never understood that either...world champ gets to wear the rainbow for 6(boo) races, but the series winner, who is unarguably the best rider that year, gets nothing.
They get to wear the #1 on their jersey the following season....

So then the World Championship race has no points towards the World Cup races? That's stupid considering they're both UCI races.

correct - worlds is it's own thing that is completely separate from the world cup other than the winner gets to wear that jersey for the following world cup season. so much emphasis is on worlds but i have to agree with the riders who say they'd rather be world cup overall champ.

Sometimes, somebody really likes something and spends a lot of time focusing on it and practicing it, and as result they get really really good at it. And the reason they're do it professionally, is because they like it the most, and it's the thing they're best at. The specifically aren't doing something else, because they're not as good at it, and they don't like it as much.

Yeti didn't force Rude to ride enduro. They didn't hold him to his contract when they cut their DH bikes and team, he voluntarily chose to ride enduro. He's not the hero we're looking for. He's not the hero we need. And I think its rude to have such expectations of Rude.

Edit:
As far as I can tell, there have been 5 world cups here, and two world championships. Gwin has won 3 world cups, Gee one world cup and one world champ, Beaumont 1 world cup, and Hart one world champs.

Gee is still getting back up to top level fast after breaking his entire body at the start of the season, and Baeoiuandsometimesymont probably isn't much of a contender. There are only two riders who have won here previously that are actually contenders for this one, and where Hart has lacked the pace for wins this year, Gwin hasn't. So basically, flip a coin as to whether or not Gwin will flat and/or explode his bike in one way or another, or win.

Minnaar does okay here, but is usually 5-6 seconds off "win" pace, but Troy has put up some good times here.

The brain says Gwin.
The heart says Brosnan. Hoverstyle, stinging like Bumblebee.
He completely tore apart the frist section in 2015:

Such a shame he crashed during that run.

I find it a particularly dumb way of doing things. It must be especially insulting in road racing, where a win is a total team effort, but only one rider gets to wear the rainbow jersey... at least in DH, XC and CX it's an individual effort.

Timed training results. I know they mean nothing, but I'll take all the news I can get. Like Vergier being back on six fiddys.
