I'm looking for a new shock, and have found a Vanilla RX. I'm unfamiliar with this model, and need some info if anybody has any.

I can't find anything on the Fox site about the RX, but it appears to have an adjustable air compression chamber. Any monkeys familiar with it? How much should I pay for an unused '03?

The RX is the same as the R, except that it has a piggyback reservior so I assume it has more oil in it. Only difference.

They haven't made them in many years, whatever you're looking at is not a 2003. Maybe a 2000 at best.

If it has the blue piggyback with what looks like a Schraeder valve, it's even older than that - mid-late 90's. It's for nitrogen, not air, so don't go tryin to adjust it.

$50 or less would probably be a fair price. They work fine, but as far as I can tell offer no advantage over the Vanilla R (I've owned both).

I've got one that I haven't used in years, but PUSH will revalve it the same way they will a Vanilla R or RC, so it may still be worth something.

If it has an orange sticker its from around 1999, I had one on my Foes and its a nice shock. Basicly its a Fox RC without the compression adjuster.

Sorry, I didn't see this. It don't know what kind of shape it's in. I got it from a buddy who got it with a frame off the internet back in the late 90s. I used it for a year or so. It's pretty dirty. I'll have to measure the i2i and stroke.

I was actually inquiring to push myself for this shock and others for the revalve, but havne't heard back yet.
My main question for this shock to them was if i2i and stroke could be changed. Anyone know?

Does that make it about the same as an R then, as dbr says? So if there is not much diff, I guess I should not pay any more than what I'd pay for an R. Based upon the leverage ratio of my bike, I'm pretty sure I want an RC, because it's got a tendency to bottom on the big(ger) stuff.

It has a resivour like the RC, the R doesn't. Here is an old pic of my Foes back in 1998.

Like I said, it's an R + a reservoir. Or an RC minus the compression.
