I'm no vegan, but I do have a tasty recipe for a summer salad.

Cucumber and tomato salad

Approx 25-30 cherry tomatoes
2 small to medium sized cucumbers
4oz feta cheese.
4 tablespoons Italian dressing
Salt and pepper
Celery Seed

Cut cherry tomatoes in half.
Dice cucumbers into bitty bits
Add feta cheese
Add Italian dressing
Add salt, pepper and celery seed and toss lightly
Enjoy

Been doing some reading & a lot of juicing in the past week. I am tossing around the idea of a vegan experiment. I have done the veggie thing for a bit, maybe it is time to try the vegan thing.

serious question. If you are going to choose veganism, or vegetarian eating, why fake meat? Isn't that missing the point?
Do you know how much saturated fat is in a brat? If you want to see the effects of eating brats regularly come to Wisconsin. There are some HUGE people here & a fupa is a badge of honor.

But really though....I have began tossing around the idea because I have gut issues & I assume that is a big reason for lots of people on alternative diets.

Vegan experiment. :disgust1:

You - STFU and eat your yummy rare steak with your nice red wine.
Sad story: Wine has started giving me the worst acid reflux ever. Thinking about it brings a tear to my eye....i have to stop talking about it. :(

I don't eat brats to begin with.
I suppose if you are switching for health reasons its OK philisophically, but If you are switching for "don't kill animals" reasons, fake meat is still meat if you ask me...because you haven't committed fully to leaving animals behind.

that is all, back to figuring out how to make my DO cake fudgier.

It's not soylent green, it's avocado!
Another fav of mine!

bread
avocado
spike seasoning
vegenaise
sprouts (or whatever greens you prefer)
a red onion

- dice about a 1/4 of the onion (or less) into fairly big chunks. mash up your avocado in a bowl, mix in the onion, and spread it on the bread.
- sprinkle spike on the avocado. on the other side spread your vegenaise, drop a handful of sprouts in the sandwich and there you go. easy.

Is that what you are referring to? I have never heard of it, in my primitive caveman ways.
