Nice.

The deer in our neighborhood would never allow such things to grow. :D
In mah sunroom, man.

Remember, I live in Colorado. Morryjg put his tomatoes out a couple weeks ago and they got like 6" of snow on 'em.

Sunroom never gets below about 50 anymore (and 95-110 during the day) and the deer have trouble getting through the glass. :p

Deer eat the wild mushrooms that grow in our front yard. Our cats like to watch them though the window. The deer, not the mushrooms.

What do you mean Heirloom?
Heirloom means from seeds that are old school. Not hybrid or modified.

There are something like 200+ varieties of herloom tomatoes. All kinds of crazy colors.

VERY.

Especially in a caprese salad:

A few heirloom tomatoes, sliced.
Fresh mozzerella, sliced. (the wet stuff, not the low-moisture stuff)
Fresh sweet basil, chopped.
Olive oil
Salt and pepper.

Lay out equal amounts of tomato and mozzerella
Sprinkle w/ chopped basil.
Drizzle w/ olive oil.
Salt/pepper to taste.

I can eat like 10 pounds of this.

Any pussy can be made tender if you pound it hard enough with your hammer.

You just named my dinner. Add a few slices of prosciutto, some bread and some peppadews (south african peppers). The mozzerella was made fresh this morning. AHH

Dean and Deluca make fresh mozzerella every Wednesday and Saturday. Something to do with plunging your hands in ice water and then into near boiling water. I don't understand it but it sure is good.
Damn! That kicks a$$.

Tell me you don't have to pay $18/lb for it, though.

Holy $hit! :dead:

Those are standard 8 oz. balls. That's $27/lb.

From my source I get 3 8 oz. balls for $5.something. We have caprese at least 6 or 8 times a month..... :thumb:

-S.S.-
You guys are talking about fresh cheese, balls, the source of said cheese balls and how much you pay.

There's a joke in there somewhere.

not to ruin the thread or anything but shouldnt it be called "fruit mayhem" not "vegetable mayhem" since tomatoes are a fruit and all.........
Yeah. You're right. But according to the "definition" of a fruit, green beans, squash, zucchini, etc. are all fruit as well.

So we'll just call 'em tomatoes, eh?
